Lam woud be amazing. IT must mean that Truman is going. He has been unlucky with injuries but we do need so much more from a marquee signing. Here's hoping.
THANK YOU Mr. PEARSON, FOR RIDDING US OF FCKWIT FUBAR, CEO TOOL AND THE STINKING UNCLE KATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY DON'T THE DOBBINS PLAY IN GREEN SHIRT, GREEN SHORTS AND GREEN SOCKS IN ORDER TO EXPRESS THEIR INFINITE ENVY OF EVERYTHING BLACK AND WHITE??
If we are in for Lam, then it pretty much confirms the rumours about trueman. I'm glad we are showing interest in the calibre of player, shows real intent. But with Catalan and St Helens in the market for a 7, it would have to be one hell of a offer and the best selling of the club since we sold the dream to Gaz. If we don't get him, I hope he goes to St Helens, that way they may back off from getting Sailor making it easier for us
Is Lam non-quota? Seems a bit daft the HDM plugging away with us having 2 quota spots next year for a Full Back and a Centre, and then we use one on a half back - unless the Lam thing really only has come to light in the last day or so.
Sailor, Lam, Abdull, Asiata is certainly an upgrade on Hoy, Trueman, Smith, Fash that we have had at times this year

Yeah he's off quota, played junior rugby in the UK which is why it would be a perfect move, an upgrade on Trueman and gives us two quota spots to play with still

With regards to Lachlan Lam it certainly seems a strange one particularly with the family connection in the club but surely he must have sanctioned his agent to activate the release clause in his contract. Could it be that we have spoken to his agent and put a hypothetical vision and deal to him and he wants the opportunity to play under a coach of Cartwrights standing? There could be much bigger things at play behind the scenes at the club that non of us are privy to.
Lam would certainly be a very strong signing and much like Asiata be a real signing of intent and still leave a quota spot open if what I was told about a deal being done with Sailor is true. It would certainly change the make up of next season squad considerably.
At the end of the day SL is not the highest paid sport in the world and it is a relatively short career so if we have an opportunity and are able to offer Lam a very good deal that out guns others then we have a very good chance of completing a deal subject to the contract. Though we all know contracts seem to be pretty worthless these days.
The fact we are in for Lam should he be available must mean Trueman's position within the club is in question.
I would imagine too that we are in a good position in terms of recruitment in the sense of having plenty of cap space and marquee space available compared to the likes of St's, Catalan etc
Something like this was always going to get out so can't blame the club or Dan for reporting on it, but seems the club are damned when its all kept quiet and damned if news like this gets out.
Certainly interesting times ahead that's for sure and likely to be some real entertainment from the likes of Degsy and the great unwashed across the river
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
