Whilst the top tier halves in the NRL are still brilliant players there isn’t much behind them, hence seeing the likes of Dodd being recruited by Souths and players like Sezer still getting game time.
If the Trueman links are correct I’d be more than happy, he’s a quality half with a running game.
I still think we will be working on a deal to unload Lino I just don’t see him as good use of a quota spot and he’s had his opportunities in SL and not shown up consistently enough to warrant a place in the 17 in 2025 in my opinion.
Unfortunately top many injuries seem to have affected his running game, maybe a confidence thing. Hopefully stay injury free until the end of the season and has a good pre season.
I'd keep him at Hull for another year, but I can see why we might potentially want him off the books, marquee player, but not getting the value out of him.

Surely Trueman is not a marquee player. Especially as Hull are not at salary cap limit so don't need a marquee ruling.

If we are looking at agreeing on a deal to release Lino which Ive heard a few times, and possible that Gale could be retiring, then we could be looking at bringing in two halves.
Added to that, Lawford didnt look convincing in the championship when he has featured, could we be looking at 3 new halves in Russell, Lam and Trueman

Thought Lawford went fine tbh but he only got the odd match after sitting 4/5 out. It would be a challenge for any player to get consistency with that never mind a young lad at 7. The ACL though will have set him back though it will give him oppprtunity to work on his core and upper strength in preperation for next season. There is something there with Lawford but it may be a few years before he’s truly ready.
With that I can see us bringing in another half or 2.
Trueman would be a risk but one that could pay off because he has some potential in there but needs the right environment and coaching. If we could get him alongside Gale this season and with our coaching set up and fitness team it could be a huge step for next years preperation.
I can see value in it.
As for Lino, happy for his to remain this season as at this level he’s good and certainly a top end championship player. If we step up though he’d be far from guaranteed a starting shirt.
