I'm fairly open-minded, so ye.........maybe............ It could be something as simple as not being able to get a pet passport for his duck-billed-platypus?

Should put any contract backflips to bed.....
He (Cartwright) became involved in a feud with Melbourne Storm winger Steve Turner over contractual obligations. "We flew him up, showed him around for two or three days and he agreed to me that he would come here, we shook hands. He looked me in the eye. The deal was done. He even started looking for accommodation. I only coached him in a couple of games at Penrith and my reaction has been the same as it would be for any player in this situation. But to do what he has done . . . I'm not happy. I'm extremely disappointed, to say the least."

It's an article that was post ages ago. Cartwright along with Arthur and can't remember the others were named as 'possible coaches that could take a new club on ' Cartwright was named as he did it the good coast.
It's a none story.
Hope the sailor rumour is true. That would be a top draw signing!
I've read that chamberlain is coming early, then the post was removed. Make of that what you will

Cartwright must have been over looked for dozens of nrl jobs in the time since he was a head coach. No reason to believe he's suddenly been offered one

In an interview he did a few weeks back, he spoke of his wish to coach in SL and how big a draw Hull FC were, how he'd be particularly happy if he can get us back among the leading pack. He seems a decent guy who is unlikely to renege on a done deal, particularly with Jed being here, too. I think he sounds like just what we need, a coach that demands high intensity and who the players will respect and with the signings made and rumoured to be happening, next season could be the first for a while to make the crowds happy again.
On another note, Huddersfield could be next years Hull FC if they don't act quickly to halt their slide and player exits, seems Davey may have had enough of wasting his money, with him being disillusioned with the pathetic crowds and poor performance, going by what some of their fans were saying on a forum yesterday.

Now would be a great time for us to try force Huddersfields hand with some signing anyone of these, I’d be happy with: - Harry Rushton - Matty English - Harvey Livett (for the right price) - Sam Halsall - Jake Staveley (U16’s, but nicks brother and well thought off)
Staveley the only one there who wouldn’t make our 17 this year and that’s probably debatable with what we’ve offered up

Dave - to reinforce your views I've just done a quick check of our losing margins from before and after Grix's appointment. In the 8 games before he took over the average losing margin was 29.5 points. In the 9 games since its dropped to 13.1 points. He's made a real difference.
