Seems very quiet on here, possibly down to this crap site that is ridiculously hard to add a post on. In spite of our very mixed form wont often have a better chance to beat Fev who look crippled wirh a mixture of injuries andsuspensions. Would be great if Crookes fit enough to return.
[quote="Ilkley Fax"] In spite of our very mixed form wont often have a better chance to beat Fev who look crippled wirh a mixture of injuries and suspensions. /quote] Unfortunately (from a Fev POV) I think that's a fair assessment. I think we are down to 15 fit players plus one loanee so it's highly likely there will be a sprinkling of DR players to make up the 17. It's the positional problems that are the worst though; of the 15 players available four are wings and two full backs, and our three regular half backs (Lacans, Patton & Turner) are all likely to be missing, though the return of Reynolds should at least ensure we have one recognised half back.
Some of our issues are self-inflicted - Patton, Addy and Springer are all suspended, and they're 3 of our key players.
Based on recent evidence this game could be a penalty-fest - both teams seem to have awful discipline recently and we have conceded 26 penalties in our last two games.
Not one of the best and a stop start game to watch that never got going or closer to the mark was never allowed to. Fev were more astute tactically than us and made better yardage and field position and were the better of the two poor sides and the little attacking ball we had was turned over far too early in the tackle count on multiple occasions.
Crookes stood out well for his first game back after such a long layoff along with Clem & Kev.
Fev were certainly not great but at least their forwards consistently made good ground, especially in the first half meaning we played 90% of that in our own half.Agree that Crookes easily our best player - forwards being domimated meant that halves and jWH were anonymous - and what happened to Corey Johnson - he spent half the match looking like he didnt know what day of the week it was.

I remember the days when I was always confident we could overturn deficits as big as 4 scores but now even 2 scores behind seems like a mountain to climb, we couldn't score in a brothel. Sorry to say I was bored senseless today, such a poor game, I don't think I even took my hands out of my pockets! The league table is about right, we are where we deserve to be.

Spot on. I said when it got to 0v8 that Fev had probably already done enough and so it proved. A dreadful game between two dreadful teams officiated by a dreadful referee. Shocking!
Hear All, See All, Say Nowt. Eat All, Sup All, Pay Nowt. And if Tha ever does Owt for Nowt, Allus do it for Thissen.
The main difference was line speed in defence, we sit and wait for them to come to us, so meant they were on font foot and always got to good kicking position. But that has been there all season. It didn't help when we lost Gee and he decided to put Davies out wide, he was just a passenger. I'd have left him at loose and put Lannon at 2nd row. And he keeps switching Keyes to the right side, where he doesn't look conformable at all
Very poor game. Fev just about did enough in the first half while we continued with one up rugby. Once again we were trashed up front finding it hard to get out of our half whereas Fev would make 60 plus metres on each set. Crooks added a bit of pace but let himself down with errors especially one on the first tackle when we were in a good position. Pity we lost Douglas and especially Calcott to injuries but they have managed to add big forwards to their squad while we still have ageing props. It is going to go down to the wire I just hope we can sneek a couple of wins soon.
A very poor quality game by 2 sides who are a shadow of their former selves. It is the same old same old from us we get bullied up front and it is only when the opposition start to tire that we get into the game. They was making ground for fun while we was getting controlled and slowed down in the tackle because of their bigger pack. So why have 2 of that pack already been signed up for next year, Kav and Fairbank have been good servants for us but they need moving on along with most of the rest of the squad. Until our lack of physical presence upfront is addressed we will continue to be a struggling side. And just a rumour from yesterday that Londan are after Crooks he wants to go but the club who have just paid for his rehab have said no until at least the end of the season.

I'm personally very nervous for this back end of the season. Nothing suggests we are going to be safe. 3 games now against Widnes, Batley & York. Lose those three and we are well and truly at risk. Concerning on all fronts that players are wanting out. I think next season, fingers crossed in the championship, you can expect to see this 'moneyball' type team, little downside and all upside.
