This is brilliant for the game and about time we gave fans more big events to go to and understand that there's plenty of us who are up for this type of event.

I'm hoping to go and planning the trip with some mates. NRL did a great job last year from what I could see with proper fan zones etc. So as it's an NRL event it will actually be done properly and be a real spectacle.

I honestly don't get the negativity to it. Fair enough if you don't want to go or rather spend your money elsewhere but why be negative about it?

Just wondering how this will fit in with WCC fixtures if us or Wigan are involved plus a participating Aussie team.?
And will the Pope be travelling over for the match ?

Each to their own but I think the other poster put it perfectly.

"the powers-that-be should be more concerned with finding ways of getting fans in this country to fall back in love with RL"

Fiddling while Rome burns springs to mind.

We can be negative about lots of things in rl, but I think on balance this is a positive.
I can understand the reticence about Vegas and the cost in general but the NRL are setting the pace on this one not the RFL - and the idea of doing this came from Kris Radlinski.
Last years event was a success and by including an SL match and a womens international match they are going for 'bigger and better'.

The other alternative would be a Wigan Warrington match at The Brick Community Stadium at the end of February.....
I know which I'd prefer.

What do you think the objective is of playing a SL game in North America (after the hiatus of the Toronto experiment).

Is it to "raise awareness" again?

I think it's great for our game, and those who go, have a fantastic time, and enjoy every minute of it. Just keep our officials well away from it, and it should be fine.

I’m in two minds about this - great opportunity to watch the Wire in the USA - and hopefully will be a great event. Since the announcement I’ve changed my mind around a dozen times about whether i want to go. However, I worry that our game will have a ‘first day at magic weekend’ fee about it - is there going to be anybody there for the first game? I’d consider myself a massive RL fan but I’d struggle to sit through 4 games in a day.

At least, league game status will have more meaning than a friendly & showcase RL's competitive skills.

Understand your point, I would think it’s been put on first to increase UK TV viewing figures. 13:30 local time will be 21:30 UK time, so the women’s game I guess will be kicking off around 23:30, which would mean missing plenty of viewers.

Saints fans on RedVee behaving like jilted schoolgirls who didn't get invited to a party, saying " I didn't want to go anyway".
