Leigh will beat most opponents on that showing. Very determined effort by a pretty decent team. I'm glad for Lammy. Wigan legend as a player, and had some tough things to deal when he was our coach.

Tough, great go forward, does the niggley stuff very well and also plays some nice eyes up rugby too ball in hand and is very damaging in defence.
Thought he was excellent again last night.
Keighran after a slow start is starting to find his feet in attack too which is very promising. Defensively he’s been fantastic and he’s another very tough lad which I didn’t really see before we signed him however his attacking influence wasn’t at the levels I expected but he’s getting there now and after a month off I thought he didn’t lose any momentum in that regard from where he left off pre ban.
I said during the game Ellis has been one of our best pack signings from Australia, Keighran made some good runs from the back when we were under pressure.

"I thought we were the better team to be honest,”
"I think we counted six times when we probably should have scored had we taken a different option."
Anyone remember when he said we had the best attacking shape in the competition in late 2021 off the back of three try less games?
Lam has some outstanding traits, in particular his ability to get his overseas signings right more often than not. However, his "if my auntie had balls" way of looking at games does him a disservice. You're not the best team if you continually take the wrong option! He's do better to ask himself why they keep taking the wrong option or alternatively why truly great teams like Wigan don't. He might be doing better than 9 losses and a draw from 15 games if he did.
On the game itself, much has already been said. There werr so msny things that were outstanding last night. From the performances of French, Wardle and Marshall but also, in truth, across the board, four world class tries that were almost unstoppable, the "scoop" from French that I doubt any other player in the league (or probably world rugby) would have even attempted to the mean defense that, even when bent, rarely broke.
But I have to echo a couple of things in particular. Ellis goes under the radar. In the simplest terms he's among the best forwards in the comp. Not just last night but pretty much every game. Jack Farrimiond was massively impressive last night. More so than against London. It was clearly a game plan for Leigh to run the big bodies at him. In those circumstances it would normally be enough that a young player wasn't found wanting but he was so much more than that. I hate to burden the lad with so much expectation but I don't think it's a coincidence that Tommy is one of his coaches! The lad has it all. We've already seen what he can do in attack but he's equally as good in defence. He's a young player so I'm certain it won't all be plain sailing but if this kid doesn't go on to have a stellar career I'll be very surprised.
One thing I found really encouraging was the immediate response to Leigh's try (which was a little soft by Wigan's standards). It didn't deflate them, it just made them angry.

Agree on Ellis, I remember the fans forum in 2022, Ellis had just got a 5 game ban for punching in Catalans and had been “just okay” to start his Wigan career.
Lenegan or Rads can’t remember which said “We see a lot of potential in Ellis and feel he could be at this club a long long time”.
He’s been brilliant this year as he was last.
I’ve been a bit critical of Keighran and Leeming but have realised we need to give new signings time; they will improve in our environment. Keighran has been improving.
RICHARDS IS SUPERMAN!!!!

Great performance against a determined Leigh team, the tries were quality and very well worked.
Agree with the comments on French and Wardle , Bevan is just, well Bevan - no one else can do some of the things he does, he is worth whatever he is being payed for entnertainment value alone. Wardle is just a class centre - and a great team player, never afraid to off-load to a better placed team mate.
No one had a bad game - especially after the early loss of Cooper., hope he is ok.
Also agree re Ellis- he just goes about his work in a very quiet and effective manner, nothing flash but really important to the team and must be close to MOM every game. His stats over the season must be really impressive and on a long term deal as well.
Leigh gave it a real go and pushed us hard at times, if they can keep building they can have a real good future, just look a player or two short in a couple of positions.
