Another Groundhog Day game that like many others before had moments of head shaking here we go again and attacking speed and brilliance in equal measures.

2 crucial points on the table at the end of the day but with an attendance of just 911 given so not sure how much that game will have cost the club.

I think that game summed up where we are as a side right now. Some very poor and passive defense in the first half, and the turning point for me was when Whitehaven 14-0 up put a early kick in behind McComb who slipped they had 3 men waiting for the ball to kick up but it never did and went into touch if they score there they go 20-0 up and for me game over. Thankfully from that point on we scored a cracking try just before the break and then ran away with the second half. Maizen did us a favour by dropping 2 high kicks which lead to scores and the rest of the scores came from some good line running and support play. We next face the Eagles who gave us a good hiding on our own patch so i would take any win from Friday's game. I could see them racing into a 30 point halftime lead and then we comeback to 30-28 with 10 to go before they seal the win with 2 late intercept scores to win 40-28.

Didn't go myself, and I probably wouldn't have if played at the Shay. I said at the start of the season I would start picking my home matches following the hike in admission. and I'll be making a choice between the upcoming Fev or Widnes, but not going to both.

The clubs need to get their heads together and have some kind of salary cap structure and universally get those entrance fees down to 15 quid absolute tops. Otherwise the clubs will slowly die, they haven't got a cat in hells chance of attracting new supporters at 20 quid plus. Even mini season tickets might work. For instance, I'd pay 30 quid for both Fev and Widnes. There you have it, made a tenner out of me already!

I went and paid £25 to get in..pathetically overpriced for the fare on offer and not surprised at anyone who swerves it.While on the game, despite the flak i got for calling out Salty he did get dropped and we didnt concede any soft walk in trys on that flank...I do agree with poster who said the turning point was when their left winger didnt have the pace to chase down that kick, our group all said same.

Salty was injured FWIW and we were playing Haven rather than the different class of opposition which is Wakey, if Haven are walking in tries against us then I would agree that questions need to be asked.

On the subject of ticket prices, on The Pulse or whatever its called now they have been advertising some family tickets for the Fev game so might be worth having a look for anyone who is thinking of going.

I went on sunday, for a couple of reasons, I wanted to see the new stand as haven't been to Belle Vue for a number of years. And also because it suited to meet a mate in Wakefield, couple of pints in Harrys and the Black Rock. And then a chance to get out with our wives to one of the many decent eateries in Wakefield.

£23 / £25 seems very steep for a match ticket, I know we had to pay Wakefield and it is what it is, but I wouldn't willingly pay that week on week.

Was having a conversation about gates at Sheffield and the lack of interest in the city for the RL Club, was mentioned that the Ice Hockey sell out the arena fairly often with big gates. Just had a quick look, Tickets for their next game are £13 a seat. thats a big difference to someone's pocket.

It's not rocket science that admission charges are way too high but clubs seem to be sleep walking into oblivion.

I always said I'd stop buying a season ticket if it got to over 20 quid a game, thus pick and choose, and if it gets to 25 quid that's it I'm done. Not just me. Away support is now almost non-existent. We used to open the North Stand for Bradford and Fev but they now bring barely a hundred. Batley and Widnes used to bring a few but now 20 tops, and the rest don't bring anyone even tho' Wakey is an unknown at the mo, but even their crowds are due to charging a tenner for behind the sticks so they might shy at travelling.

I'd think it will be the lowest turnout from Fev for a long time, a combination of the hangover from last year, disillusionment with the new IMG order and our poorest run of form for years would see to that, but add to that we have today had Addy, Springer and Patton suspended for that game from an already threadbare squad and I don't think there will be a huge amount of enthusiasm from Fev fans.
