Very sad news 74 is no age at all. A truly underrated player in the team of 79. Graham Idle did all Bill Ashurst's tackling to allow him to do what he was good at.

Was a tackling machine along with Skerrett that was there job, in one of greater teams we have had at Wakefield .Condolences to family and friends.

Yep, remember him from back in the day, IIRC he had a strange running style - bandy-legged I think - but was still a great player.

My Dad was the club Dr in the late 70`s and early 80`s, he was always staggered by how tough RL players were, but was simply amazed by the staggering toughness of Graham Idle. What a player Graham was, durable, athletic, tough, determined and boy what a tackling machine he was.
