We recruited 9 players, of that Pele, Brown and Diakhate have already gone.
Tindall, Okunbor and probably Walker will be gone too.
Throw in us paying off Hoy. Sutcliffe is leaving a season early too. I've probably missed some, crazy 12/24 months
Every one else's fault and location too is a good reason according to Smith. He probably chucked darts at a board and these are the players we got! As you say the worst cycle of recruitment in SL history. Just pleased Myler has come aboard and has already steadied the ship somewhat, Grix too gets the plaudits for the improvement in the scorelines and for being brave enough to shed the deadwood that Smith landed on us.

O Meley and Clarke. All NRL players had links to Canterbury & Newcastle where O Meley was Assistant Coach.

I do hope that we now move away from ever making a signing like Pele again. Quota spots are precious in this league and to use one on a project like Pele was always a huge risk.
I wanted it to work out, I think his size alone meant there was always potential. However its clear that his heart has never being in it. Probably the most unfit player I have seen at the club in recent times, he was painful to watch in the London heat a few weeks back, was as if they had dragged someone out the stand for a 20 minute stint.
I can't help but think this means that a signing (most likely Satae) is all but done.

I think whilst some of what Smith said had a modicum of merit I think it also showed more so that during his tenure at the club it was very lax in just about every aspect, with the recruitment being lazy and half arsed at best with little in the way of genuine desire and effort put in.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Just Okunbor to get rid of now and hopefully wipe from memory Tony Smith's utterly embarrassing recruitment. Joe Biden could have used our salary cap and quota spots more effectively!
THANK YOU Mr. PEARSON, FOR RIDDING US OF FCKWIT FUBAR, CEO TOOL AND THE STINKING UNCLE KATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY DON'T THE DOBBINS PLAY IN GREEN SHIRT, GREEN SHORTS AND GREEN SOCKS IN ORDER TO EXPRESS THEIR INFINITE ENVY OF EVERYTHING BLACK AND WHITE??
