Agree with that.
In 2006 and early 2007 it felt like success was slipping away too quickly after the great stride made in 2004, especially when we had a dominant side for most of 2005 that inexplicably lost the Challenge Cup and GF.

andrew dunneman told me about the training. he said come the GF they had nothing left to give. he didn't understand why as 2004 he rotated and rested all season until the last 2 games, so everyone was fresh.
I'm glad he noticed GH's 'competitive' comment, because it explains a lot about where the lack of desperation to win things comes from. It really did sound like the lame excuse it is. In reality we're close to the bottom of a group of teams that compete amongst themselves. Its not true that Wigan and Sts are part of that general competitive pack - just like the Leeds of the Golden Generation those two sides will not be beaten when it counts by any of those second tier teams.
As for Rohan's nonsense about 'promise' after Hull, I got the feeling he just threw that in as he had nothing else to say. The problem isn't just Rohan in those instances, its the media not asking tough questions. At some stage someone has to call out appalling performances for what they are.

Yes fully agree. And even Peter smith has been quite stinging in his comments column this week

Did you hear this from a reliable source ? Only reason I ask, is if it was genuine, it would appear a last minute reprieve was given to Smith and makes me think could Blease have intervened and said it was not a good idea. If so would look like GH is giving him a free reign.

Clearly not that reliable
Blease may want to assess everything before making a decision, and as much as it may anger some fans that’s probably the best thing. Starting a job on Monday and sacking people doesn’t look like any in depth analysis has gone on.
