I reckon Smith will actually go on to do well somewhere in the future, which is why I don’t like the whole ‘fraud’ thing
Arthur has to be in the Leeds thought process you would think yes.
I don’t take any pleasure out of saying that RS looks boxed into a corner. I expected us to win against Hull quite well with the side we had… too many now out of form or not up to standard.

Anyway, I agree we need an older experienced coach who is a good man manager. My lad wants it to be Brad Arthur as well. Personally, I don’t, I think he is a good coach but I think we need a coach players fear and respect more than he brings. But that is just my view from a long distance
Doesn’t RS have a right to do a tough job without mobs baying for his head? Or other fans have rights to attend games without a beered up gang acting and chanting aggressively? I take my 5 year old, what about his rights to feel safe?
One person’s rights often infringe on another’s (e.g. right to protest) - how about we consider the impact of our actions on other people? Maybe have manners?

I disagree completely with the beered up mob having a go at each other but it’s a game of rugby league . Paying fans have a right to call for a coach to go , I think if people want to shout we want Rohan out that’s fair enough.
I also completely disagree with personal abuse on social media.
On Smith I agree with what Arthur saidI’m sure he has done his best and done it his way but like a boxer on the ropes he needs saving from further punishment.

I'd be amazed if Brad Arthur left Aus. He'll just bide his time for a top job in Aus. Think Leeds would/should be looking at top assistants, someone like Josh Hannay or Dean Young
I don't get the love for Brad Arthur. If people are complaining that appointing RS an unproven coach was a mistake then tell me about Brad Arthurs record, what has he won to make him so desirable. Other than caoching an NRL team for ten years without any silverware what makes him so wanted?
Sir Gregory ParsloeP wrote:On that front I’d have Wane as first choice as new coach , he may not want it but most of this team need a strong coach who tells them what he wants and takes no poop
Wane would be my choice too, he was open to the job in the past. I think he would get some decent signings, probs wigan/ex wigan lads, and get the best out of them, as well as bringing the best out of the current players.
Since 2012, the Parramatta Eels have had several notable achievements, though they have not secured a premiership title in the NRL. Key highlights include:
NRL Finals Appearances: The Eels have qualified for the NRL Finals Series on multiple occasions under the coaching of Brad Arthur, reaching the finals in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Grand Final Appearance: The most significant recent achievement was reaching the NRL Grand Final in 2022, although they did not win the title. NRL Auckland Nines: The Eels won the Auckland Nines pre-season tournament in 2016, although this title was later stripped due to salary cap breaches. Coaching Milestones: Brad Arthur became the most capped head coach in the club's history in 2023, surpassing Brian Smith’s record (Parramatta Eels) (Parramatta Eels).

Leeds need to be aiming to be the best, not just catching up with Wigan and Saints etc. If Wane is so good why hasn't he been a head coach for years? Why isn't he head coach at Wigan? He's just another name on a merry go round that gets mentioned after every coach comes under pressure. 10 years ago it was Brian Noble. No thanks.
The next appointment has to be done right, especially if it is going to be a mid-season one. I'd prefer an interim coach if it is decided that Smith has to go, rather than going with another SL journeyman coach. If we're going down that route Rowley would be preferable. Hopefully not McNamara either but somehow he has managed to extend his career beyond others who have achieved more in the past.
