How this guy as been overlooked for a knighthood is beyond me. Not just because of the recent events but he as been working tirelessly for the charity ever since is friend was diagnosed and now sadly passed away.
Just looking at the list of people recognised in this honours list a bloke that plays chess and a guy(Mark Cavendish) that rides a bike gets a knighthood admittedly a great rider but a knighthood for that really. Not saying any of the people on the list don’t deserve their awards just this one is long overdue.
Hated him as a player though, but we do when they play for other teams.

Cavendish is an apex sprinter. Your point is valid but I wouldn't compare to other achievements, plus Cav hasn't been knighted.
Kev S has raised millions for charity, played in championship winning teams for years and is even now part of the RFU set up. If the monarchy overlook that then it speaks volumes.
If there were a petition for Kev to get knighted, I'd back it.
This was all exposed in a WikiLeak years ago. It's got nothing to do with what you've achieved in most cases... It's either 'bought' through he back door (business leaders), or born out of publicity (post office scandal) or flavour of the month (e.g. a RU World Cup winner)... The Monarch doesn't sit there and choose some 'good eggs'. There are very few genuine deserved Knighthoods, and that's why I don't take it too seriously (and neither should Sinfield). It's hugely over-valued.
