Balmforth has shown more in 15 minutes than Houghton or Smith have all season. Just makes the decision to not play him before seem even more mystifying. I really hope he is still in our long term plans.
Also, I'm one of Sao's biggest critics, but he's been very very good. If only he could produce that every week. Such a frustrating player. Same goes for Lane who has played his best half of rugby for a long time too.

Sao is just doing what he needs to do which is run straight and hard, and he's pretty good at doing that. No stupid offloads attempted or overplaying with the ball, just concentrating on winning the tackle and getting a good play of the ball. Possibly dictated by the weather, possibly a message Grix has given to him. But either way, definitely a better proper than second rower or 13.
That's superb again from Balmforth again. The jump right and pass left from dummy half and then the way he linked the play from the offload was Roby-esque.
