Great appointment, and hugely telling that RS was not in the press conference to be. I think he'll be gone at the end of the season, with Blease's first major job finding a replacement.

Sounds like as good as we could have hoped for.
Who selects the players to buy? Does Rohan identify the players he wants and Blease tries to get them over the line? What say does Blease have over our style of rugby, other than to get a new coach?
I would like whether Rohan remains coach or we get a new coach to have some new assistant coach input.

On the press release he acknowledges the flair style of Rugby that Leeds have traditionally played but then harkens back to the Graham Murray pack of 98/99. I think it's fair to say strengthening the pack will be a priority.

This might be a kick up the a*#+ fir both playing squad and Coach. Interesting theat Bleases philosophy is forwards on the front foot pack which does not fit in with RS style, he might just walk away before he’s pushed.

Worked in an industry where appointments were made like this many times. Basically GH saying the recruitment and retention was all down to Smith and it`s his team not mine. He didn`t say those last 2 words but that`s the gist. He goes on to say Blease will take on more of a recruitment/retention role and I won`t. Again the last 3 words are not what GH said. Basically it`s Smiths fault for this year and if it doesn`t work out it`s Bleases fault. I can keep my head held high as none of it will be my doing. If we become successful it`s down to GH making the appointment. I do think Blease will kick ass and ruffle feathers which is a good thing. I actually think Smith will walk citing differing opinions. When is not clear yet.

We will never know the answer but I wonder if Blease had any conversation with either Ackers or Croft before taking the role. If I were Smith that question would have crossed my mind!
