“Everything we do between now and when our first game kicks off next year is about winning.”
I love that
He goes on to say "You do that with culture. It's really important; it's about setting standards and behaviours and everyone in the business buying into them. There are a lot of little things that you've got to get right."

We've been here before!
The key is how you go about implementing it, do you go for the chilled out uncle Tony approach of undercooking them and hoping things will come good by themselves or do you set clear boundaries from the off, get the players fitter than ever and follow through with sanctions for not meeting standards and not now down to player power.

I think there are common themes to getting results so obviously culture is one of them. Im not sure coaching is reinventing the wheel its how you do it amongst so many variables. I think TS had the right ideas and may have got there- we'll never know. Everyone speaks highly of him. what he didnt have is the money we appear to be enjoying now. But yes that Cartwright speech could have come from TS and many other coaches
Smith would never have got it right with this disinterested group of players. You need to be highly motivated to succeed in an environment where you're left to your own devices to achieve. It worked at Leeds with their group in the mid naughties but there was no chance at hull. It needs a strict regiments instill the disciplines we need to start to adopt
Fully agree with JC's philosophy but I don't think we've ever managed to nail and sustain a whole club winning culture and identity. We've had some success despite some aspects of the club not being right but we've then stagnated and haven't then addressed those weak areas looking for continual improvement and that's why I think we've never really had sustained success in the Super league era. Hopefully JC will make everyone understand that the job is never done!
