I'll kick this off

1968 water splash I was 7 my dad needed a lift to Wembley so the ticket he bought for me went to the son of the driver to Wembley back in the day.

1979 v Widnes I was in the Merchant Navy got my ticket after the semi v Saints but had to fly to Mombasa on the Tuesday before the final to join a ship! Listened to what I could in the ships radio room when updates were available via the radio operator.

Got to the Fev Bradford finally in the earlier 70's on the school trip.

63 now so it's been a long time coming to watch Trinity so gonna savour the day on Saturday whatever transpires

I was there in 1979 along with Don Estelle and Windsor Davis. I went down on one of the supporter buses and in those days Wembley still had terracing.
I have waited 45 years to see Wakefield at Wembley again only to be stopped by my consultant following surgery. I can only hope that with the new regime we can return again but for the Challenge Cup whilst I can still attend.

Remember watching Neil Fox practising drop goals at a training session at BV a few days before i saw him drop a couple of goals against Huddersfield at Wembley.

This is my 45th Challenge Cup Final + Replay at Elland Road.

My first was at Wembley in 73 for Fev v Bradford.
I was sat on the front row with my dad and brother right by the tunnel.
I was shown at the start of Grandstand for the title scenes at the start of the programme for the following year.

It will be my 35th Challenge Cup at Wembley as many were elsewhere as New Wembley was being built and of course didn't go in Covid year.

Obviously I was there in 79 but my favourite would have to be Wigan v Hull in 85. In front of 97,000 crowd.

Looking forward to this year.

My first final was when my dad took me and my bro on the supporter's bus in '79, but I was only 14 at the time so don't remember a great deal about it.
I then went on a social club bus to the Fev -v- Hull final in '83 with a couple of mates, but other than Fev winning don't remember much about that one either.
My last visit was in 2013 when we did a long-weekend in London taking in the Wigan -v- Hull final too. Hull didn't score a point and it chucked it down all day and we had to get off the tube before Wembley due to flooding on the line :UMB: :UMB:

Sadly, just too young to talk too much about Wembley 79, I was only 6, and didnt go.

My late father, however, was part of the Wakefield schools coaching set up, and was one of the coaches for the Wakefield schoolboys who played in the curtain raiser, losing to St Helens.

Been several times since, however, but just for the day. This year though, going down Friday after work, and returning Sunday

Attended the 1960,1962 &1979 Trinity finals. Missed the 1968 owing to getting married two months later and cash was a little short. Remember 1960 final against Hull for the Big Fella's scoring records, and it was a red hot day. The Coldstream marching guardmen were fainting in numbers.

First one was 1963 v Wigan. A really hot day. We went down in my 'Uncle's' Ford Anglia. I remember him doing 90 down the M1 which in those days started/finished at Leicester. Next was the watersplash final in '68. It should never have been played but nobody wanted to disappoint those who were there. We were robbed that day never mind Don's missed goal kick. Brother Neil had been injured in the Championship Final against Hull KR the week before if I remember correctly. 1979 was a big disappointment. We took a gamble and played the great Bill Ashurst but it didn't pay off. Though I always remember Keith Smith being obstructed by a Widnes player when he might have scored It went unpunished. I went to quite a few finals subsequently but it's never the same when it's not your team. Can't go this weekend but good luck Trin.
