The Sheffield result means nothing in the context of the final.

That's about the strongest squad he could have named, Vagana and Boothroyd would have probably both got in if not injured

Not much new to glean from the squad is there, aside from all the ‘maybes’ - Thornley, Griffin, McGillvary - included. Personally still think we should go with 1-13, with Doyle, Uele, Rodwell and Kay on the bench. Bain to miss out through no fault of his own.

Griffin must have got the all clear from his consultant to play, so I imagine he will play second row, the club maybe will keep monitoring him and if they feel he isn't right then I imagine Rodwell will play in his position and Bain will come into the match day team

Don't know much about them to be honest but I'm guessing that will probably be the best players available, one or two of our old Boys in there

That's a strong squad. Their halfbacks are very good and will cause us some problems. They have a few older players who will see this as a last hoorah and give it their all. If we let them play they'll punish us. Forward dominance is going to be key for us.

5 old boys. All will want to make it a day for them to remember.

Imagine Hansen will play FB, with 2-13 otherwise. They’re going to need a miracle.
