Interested to read what people’s thoughts are on the yellow card last night? It’s amazing how red cards are given for the likes of Makinson at Cas but only a yellow for an intentional head shot on Delaney.

I thought the ref was hopelessly out of his depth last night. How he missed the Simms shoulder charge is beyond me however that fired us up so it wasn’t all bad.

Welsby is getting back to his best and was class last night. Forwards were great too.

Zig- wondering what you think of Stephens? He’s certainly not looking out of place at this level.

Thought the yellow was the correct call personally. Yes, we've seen reds for much less but I'd say that's more of a problem of those red cards being dogshit calls rather than last night being a red. The ref was right that he did hit the back first and slide up. The shoulder charge was a shocker though, and should have been a yellow at the very least.

Personally, I can't stand soft red cards. I think the fact that people are calling for at least 1 red a game now has shown how far the sport has fallen. Red cards should be reserved for serious foul play and stuff that stands out, I don't think they're needed anywhere near as often as they're shown. They completely change and more often than not completely ruin a game and seeing as many reds as we've been seeing is just effecting too many results, skewing the league table etc. Look at that sending off we had against Salford. We were absolutely cruising that game, got a soft red and then they came back and won. Completely ruined the game. I'd rather we use the yellow more often as a deterrent rather than risking ruining the integrity of the league by dishing out a load of reds

The only reason they look up to you is because they chose to kneel.

Yeah I probably should’ve added that I’ve not seen it back on TV yet or heard what the ref said.

I still think he was way out of his depth though, he’s a long way behind his brother in controlling a game.

Just typed a message out but the site crashed on me
In summary:
Saints looked good better attacker plays but still not 100%
Stephen’s looked decent good breaks made by the lad
Makinson and Hurrell limping isn’t a good sign
Catalan will likely slip down the league if they can’t fix their fitness
Thought the yellow was fair enough think the ref explained it well when he called the two captains over. The other shot by simms should have been carded

Having just watched it back I think the yellow was correct to be fair.

Stu - this site won’t let me quote you again! I thought the lad played well last night, I maybe wrong and if I am I will hold my hand up, as always. For what it is worth, I think Catalans have gone backwards fast, they have no attacking threat. They had enough possession and territory to put Saints to the sword. Twelve months ago, with Tomkins et al in the team, it would have been a different result. I think the top four is now settled, only the pecking order to be sorted out.

I’ve always been Stu M on here but for some reason you quoted The Reaper on here thinking it was me….

You’ve done similar before with another poster I think but I’ve never changed my name on here.

Fair enough Stu, somebody else mentioned that and given that you didn’t correct them at the time (I don’t think you did anyway), I took it to be true.

Well hopefully we can avoid Saints because over on Redvee they still beat us 9 times out of 10
