I remember him playing for London and thinking he looks in great shape, he was excellent in a poor team.

He was on loan from Hull initially during the Sheens period, we wanted to buy him but I think you wouldn't sell him to us so he went to London, he then signed back with us after London's relegation.

Nothing official came out about why he went, plenty of rumours but nothing from either Rovers or Abdul himself, it was a strange one though because only the week before he was in the HDM saying how excited he was about battling for his place in the team,
And contracts mean nothing these days so if a player wants out there gone, and it's the same if the club wants you gone too.

Depends on which version you want to believe, there were plenty of rumours which included needing to be out of Hull for personal reasons. looking at it with no inside info it was after his initial injury last year he came back carrying more timber then pulled up after 1 game i think it was, had another lengthy absence and came back seriously out of shape, WP doesn't seem the sort of coach to put up with that and the rest is history.
Of course it's a risk signing Abdull but I think it'll be one worth taking. People still banging on about his comments before that game. What's he supposed to say? "I hope we win but I'm actually a massive FC fan. Ideally I'd be running out in black and white".
He was outstanding in MKM derby last year and is currently first choice at Catalans. He has one of the best kicking games in Super League.
