Or have I got that wrong?
think its 10 or 11 days, usually covers 2 games though

Common sense indeed. The rules around HIAs are the major factor here, I believe. Any star players turning out this week would be vulnerable to skulduggery and/or plain bad luck, so they have to be protected and left out.

There'll usually very little "plain bad luck" in this type of fixture against a side as professional as Wigan....."Skulduggery" love it, word of the day for UR I'm going to get it in a conversation this afternoon.

11 days for HIA, no way would I play the normal 13 due to what has been said earlier, they will target them as it's the Wigan way.

Looks like there will be some valuable experience gained this Saturday then. That is the best part of a starting pack missing. Hope whoever plays does themselves proud. Free hit.
The week before Wembley in 2012 we played London away and they bounced us 64-12. The team that played had enough to beat london
The team was Riley; Evans, Bridge, Atkins, Williams; Ratchford, Myler; Morley, M Monaghan, Wood, McCarthy, Waterhouse, Grix.
Replacements: Cooper, Blythe, Hill, Solomona.
Pretty decent team but if half of them had one eye on the big gig the week after then it counts for nothing but you are adding risk of suspension and injury.
Sorry Karetaker. Yep. Williams is suspended. I was trying to produce a big list of big names missing to get our excuses in early. Or to be able to say how we turned Wigan over with this lot Sat on the sidelines.

Although ever-hopeful, I'm certainly not expecting us to win this one. However, I'm excited to see how the likes of Taylor-Wray, Sergeant, Okoro and Tupaea perform (assuming they play). Let's hope all the young lads give a really good account of themselves.

Yeh I get that, only have Wigan fans thinking we are being cocky had we just rested Williams. But for me I was and am not overly bothered about the result of this particular game. I just wanted a result against Catalan last week.
I think this squad makes a lot of sense. We have a number of potential match winners in our first team squad who I'd hate to see take an 'accidental' knock the week before a final. Many of the players named have played some loan/DR rugby as well as a fair bit of SL experience. It will be great for them to run out in front of a big crowd and put a marker down for later in the year.
