Not this again. First Rowley, now Wane. They are professionals. If the terms offered are right, they'll come. And if any professional sportsman didn't want to go to a particular club because he "hates" them then deary me.
I can’t say I have a clue what goes on behind the scenes, but I imagine GH is putting the pretty serious feelers out the for Jason Demetriou, Justin Holbrook or Brad Arthur before making an announcement or decision on Smiths future.
I would have absolutely no confidence in Chev Walker or Scott Grix taking over as interim, as they’re in effect all part of a failed coaching staff, so in that sense there’s no point sacking smith if there’s no one to come in.
The main purpose would be to send a signal to players and fans that enough's enough. Its pretty common for assistants to take over as caretaker if the head coach is sacked. The problem last time we did it was that Agar got the gig permanently.

I'd be staggered if this wasn't the case. One thing is certain. The next coach must be tried and tested at this level.
Not a fan of appointing a caretaker coach mainly due to them less authority and we could end up being in a bigger mess than we already are.Get the new man in now.
I'm not a pheasant plucker, i'm a pheasant pluckers son and i'm only plucking pheasants till the pheasant plucker comes.
Smith has had long enough and performances continue to be substandard and inexplicably inept. Gary H has banked some of his own reputation on appointing Smith so won’t react quickly. I think Rohan’s roster management has been better than some aspects of his performance, though I agree there is more hope than evidence, in converting journeymen into stars. I don’t think they have been doing due diligence in incoming players. Miller is a good example - superficially in some clips may seem exciting but is just too giddy. No leadership on the pitch. I am not a fan of players giving a consolatory touch to a team mate having made a mistake.
Best start again and appoint a decent Director of Rugby who will in the short term put pressure on Rohan, and in meantime organise a search for a new coach.

Think the damage is already done. We aren’t going win anything nor will we be relegated. So we have ample time to appoint a successor , if a decent coach comes along go for him. Not certain a temporary coach would make a substantial difference, certainly won’t be converting Roberts into a world class three quarter. Nor Frawley into a decent half back. You appear to be the font of all knowledge so it may pay for the club to appoint you as temporary coach.
I doubt GH will take any action if at all until the end of the season. It will reflect badly on him yet again with his poor choices of the coach in this and previous seasons. Also if we finish in the top 6 then Smith will probably be here next season. The only way he possibly would take action is if we lose to one of the bottom 3 over the next month, as even he would realise the unrest, even amongst the most loyal supporters, would be too much to ignore and bear.. Beat the bottom 3 easily and either a narrow win or loss to Leigh and I don't believe he will do anything.

On another note you don`t think there might be some discontent amongst the players with the likes of Newman and most likely Croft possibly Ackers getting the big bucks which has divided the dressing room? When I see players like Cam Smith who I thought had a decent last season play like he couldn`t care less and others who appear to have gone backwards in their development this season. Could there be an undercurrent that all is not well? Or maybe the players do not buy into Smith`s coaching methods which seems most likely?
