On Balmforth.
Nick Staveley's dad has had his say on Twitter.
"Kid can cover 9,13,6,7,3,4,1. "Coached him from young and he doesn’t let pressure get him, can blow a game open in blink of an eye, tough and durable. But if you don’t give him the chance you’ll never know. Kind of player that’ll bite you in the ass down the road." Hope he holds his nerve and sticks around. New coach might see it differently. Personally got no confidence in Grix/Cummins making the right decisions on players like him Yeah agree. Tough for Grix at the minute but something has to give/change. I get you can’t throw all the young ones in, there’s got to be balance. But like Jack Charles, should have been pulled from the firing line a few games ago .He’ll be some player but needs protecting. What’s going on with him? Was gonna message you last week and ask, blows my mind God knows pal, not sure if it’s not if your face fits kind of gig. Similar to what Nick had with Hodgson, face didn’t fit. He’s a confident kid in his ability is Den and not sure how some others may read that. Like I say his confidence can be misconstrued. You can pick holes in an anyone’s game if you look hard enough but he fronts up well for the reserves when given chance. What’s the harm in playing him? 20 min stints

It's a strange one regarding Balmforth . Riding seems to think he'll potentially be a very good player , then we had Smith who wouldn't give him a look in hardly and now Grix is doing the same . I can see this scenario with Balmforth mirroring that of Josh Hodgson .

Just seems part and parcel of why we’re so bad as we still have a mind set in the coaching of Houghton has to play regardless and with the full game in mind. That is just not working and hasn’t for years. Andy Last was the only coach who realised that and spelled him which made a difference. No we have a player that has openly said he’d fallen out of love with the game, that is now playing a year too long and being honest is just not up to anymore. Yes he’s been a great servant to the club but his time as a top 9 has gone and he should have been a squad 9 with Brown & Balmforth.
It’s ludicrous that Balmforth hasn’t been given a change given the wonderful performances we’ve seen from the same old failures week in week out from the same old players, then they wonder why we are so poor.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
