well a lot of folks will have been pleased to see the back of me on here for the past couple of weeks after a holiday timed so that I didn't miss a game of ours but was away when the unthinkable could have happened in the cup semi final which I watched from half time in a nice pub in Tenerife. I haven't been on here because I'm just fed up of pop ups and ads blocking progress on this site and the inability to quote people etc, which is really p*ssing me off. However In my absence I have to say that I spoke to a couple of folks who used to be connected with our club but who are now back in Sydney and Brisbane and they were both surprised at our appointing John Cartwright as they really do rate him and they think he will be a real success.

One confirmed that he understood that his agent actually contacted us so keen was he to have a crack at the job and he was described to me as a real slave driver as far as fitness is concerned all of which heartened me. I have to say that although I was sceptical at the time of his appointment I think that Myler. has thus far done a great job with what is available to him and like many on here I doubt myself that Adam will be around in any sort of hands on role come next season. After that evasive interview on Humberside I think he's simply lost interest and wants out. Investment permitting, which hopefully does seem to be coming.

However I have to say watching the game at Castleford I did ponder on the issue of just how far we have sunk and how poor we are and what a low ebb the club is at. They were poor too, but showed some heart for their fans and sense but we were hopeless at times. Never mind culture and application some of our lot make schoolboy mistakes and misjudgements which are cringeworthy to watch. We may blame the debts we had on the quality of our recruitment but it does appear that Adam was led up the garden path by Smith and settled for getting shut of quality players and making do with second rate signings to replace them in the name of solvency.

Can you imagine how we would be as fans in this state where relegation to still be live, for we don't honestly look like we'll win another game this year. We are an absolute laughing stock in the game and certainly the very poor relations in this city. Its going to be a very long road to get back to anything like what we have expected for years from Hull FC in fact having watched the last quarter last night and the kids having a go I don't know why we just don't throw caution to the wind, bring em into the team and play a muck or.nettles game and at least entertain us for some of the time.

But what I guess I am saying is that whichever angle you look at our on field performances we are probably at the lowest ebb with the least resources and poorest players we have seen at our great club for decades.

Our management has sold us the fans down the river this year big style, its all been done on the cheap but having done that they now seem incapable of producing anything to pull us back, what is worse however is the sad state of affairs when we are using the IMG stuff and no relegation to do it. We know we can't go down so bugger the supporters we are safe, wherever we finish. I just hope that when we finish bottom in disgrace we'll all have a big think about how much longer we can be relied upon to just pitch up pay our money and accept whatever we are served up. We all hope for next season (already), we love our club remember the good times and hope against hope for their return but come the end of the campaign we need to be asking so big questions and getting some answers. As I always say It's a good job we love em!!!!

Well said wilf, this site is unusable on a phone now. Easier to deal with the pond life on the Facebook groups!

As for the new coach, watched his interview with Vossy from a while ago and he clearly lives and breathes RL. His enthusiasm is totally infectious and if none of our squad will run through a wall for him, then I will!

And at 59 he still looks like he could do a job in the pack. Probably points to his enthusiasm for fitness. Some of the lazy barstewards in our squad will be bricking it for pre season. Good!

If you are having trouble with the site use duckduckgo as your browser zero ads etc. I had the same issues until trying duckduckgo works a treat for me now I am used to it

Wouldn't it be worth considering other options? Even with duck duck I can't quote. Discord, Reddit, even Facebook or just a better website.

I'd release Sao, but if he stays I'd have as prop. Ashworth off the bench so not in the 13.

Sao
New hooker
Ese ese
New backrower
Holmes
Asiata

Satae
Ashworth
New hooker
Staveley.

Ashworth starts over Holmes and Fash/Aydin are over Staveley every day of the week. Staveley is a good up and coming youngster.

I actually like Aydin. He looks a player and a half. With better players around him I think he'd do even better!

The jungle drums were beating hard last week that Salford centre Tim Lafai would be heading to Hull FC in 2025. This was strongly denied by Salford officials when we contacted them. Making things more interesting since has been the capture of Huddersfield's Esan Marsters for next season. And speculation that Hull FC were keen on Lafai's teammate, Nene Macdonald, as well as Lafai. Could it be Macdonald headed to east Yorkshire next year instead? Or will Lafai be on the move? All we can say if Hull FC are throwing some serious coin around

I'd take either, but would prefer Mcdonald, as younger.

Bet we get neither.
