of the field GH has, and still is, the man.
on field its shambolic and a younger D.O.R. is essential moving forwards

Caddick & Hethrington saved our club from extinction. I don’t think you realise how close that was.

We have the best all rugby league stadium in the country, some of the best training facilities and we are one of the most profitable. None of this guarantees success on the field and it’s all about getting the right combination at the right time. Those that think GH is past it need to reanalyse our position and get a reality check.

Those that think we should be more ruthless and not care about being a family, go start your own club and run it the way you want. I think it is one of our clubs best qualities and makes me want to support them through any eventuality.

How many clubs would phone up and ask if everything was ok as we hadn’t used a season ticket for a few weeks. I can answer that by saying none other than our great club.

Be grateful for what we have and quit your toxic, entitled view points and try being a true supporter.

I honestly don't know how many times it has to be repeated for it to go in but there is clearly a big difference between on the field management and off it. No one can deny he does great stuff off the field, it is on the field that he is clearly past it. That is why we continue to fail and never move forward.

It is a director of rugby position or whatever we want to call it that we desperately need. GH is fine to stay running the club behind the scenes but someone else with a more modern take on coach + squad building to takeover that side of the club. It's mental how many times fans seem to deliberately confuse the two different aspects of running the club. At this point it feels deliberate to shut down the debate.

It's a terrible strawmen argument, oh you want us to pick better coaches and players? Well what about our lovely stadium! Lads we want a rugby team to support, believe in and entertain us. We don't support a rugby stadium or a financial statement.

I`m not sure Kevin Sinfield is the answer to our DOR role.
My recollection was that he wasn`t that good and made some poor decisions.
I`m sure if he were to be offered it again he could always bring in his mate JJB.
Wigan fans in the past complained about Radlinski being in charge.
I do agree GH has worked wonders for this club and maybe he could still be there in some capacity.
But younger and a more dynamic person is now required.

This may sound a bit nuts but Smith might be a good DoR. He's shown he can be ruthless with getting rid of players and in the off season has helped build a whole of club culture. Its the actual coaching bit that seems to be not working for whatever reason.

We need qualified people in charge rather than just people who used to play for us. Someone being a great player for us in the past has no bearing on if they'll be a good coach or director of rugby. They are completely different skill sets, time and time again this is proven in sport.

Sinfield would have excelled at it, if he actually wanted to do the role, which he found out he didn’t and preferred coaching.

How's his coaching career panning out?

Leicester Tigers won the league and he's been involved with England so not bad for his first few years

Personally I completely disagree , he has exited around 23 players in 2 years by my reckoning and the vast majority of recruitment are no better or worse than what he has exited.

I believe he puts far too much emphasis on being a nice bloke rather than a player that can bring impact at SL level.

Simple - go back to raiding Salford - Rowley as Coach, Blease as DoR
