Since march 18 when Brian McD took a side to win at Saints, we have played 18 matches v Saints, won 1 ( last year Blake Austin. Drop goal) and lost 17. No wins at home.
This is long term systemic failure by Hetherington.
We are struggling badly but we have not been able to compete with the best side for a very long time.
The good news is that Saints won’t beat us again until February 2025 at the earliest.
What do you mean, we’ll meet them in the playoffs and GF

This is something that I can’t understand, as a player I’d be fuming after any loss and wouldn’t care if my mates are on the other team, I wouldn’t be up for a laugh and a joke. I’d be shaking hands then straight down the tunnel.
I think that's a bit harsh on Roberts. I'd say it reflects more on the senior players. They set the tone and the younger guys follow it. Can you imagine JP after that sort of loss? None of the junior players would pal around after a shellacking if he was in the team. We don't have anything like that sort of leadership in the squad, and haven't for years.

There seems to be no real passion for the club within the majority of this current bunch, and I’ve never seen a more fractured group of players in my life. People talk about “the rebuild” well guess what, this current rebuild needs to be razed to the foundations and started again with a whole new group of players. I won’t be giving another penny to Hetherington till these contracts run down and he gets some players that are invested in the club and the shirt. McDonnell gets a pass, he was the only one that looked like he was hurting last night and prepared to do something about it.
Commented that someone would say this when I was watching last night. The simple fact is you can care a lot, be upset but still have a conversation with one of your friends. I can think of hundreds of times where I've been upset and had a laugh with people. The players are human, stop projecting your thoughts onto them and totally misreading the situation.

Agreed, there will have been plenty times when mcguire, peacock sinfield et al will have had a beating but then been jovial with the opposition, RL is a small community a lot of the players will be friends off the pitch.

Well that was a disgraceful performance and only Handley looked to be putting any effort in. I would say the same about McDonnell even though he gave penalties away he made a hell of a lot of tackles. Croft and Ackers look distinctly average in our team and as for Newman I`m still waiting for him to do something and to stop acting like a spoilt brat. And I was pleased Sky highlighted him still laying down on the turf whilst Saints scored from the gap he left. A decent coach would drop him for the next game. Russell and Handley the only backs with any credit from the game. Sangare, Goudemand, Lisone and Smith wouldn`t look out of place in the London team. No aggression, no structure, no guts and no game plan, no confidence in their own ability or the coaches ability sums us up. I reckon if fans voted with their feet like I will do at Headingley in future then Gary who is 5 years past his sell by date might realise where we are heading. And before anyone says we have Holroyd, Gannon and Bentley missing. Take a look at how many much better forwards Saints had missing as well as losing their half back and a forward during the game. Pathetic is an understatement.

You know it's not your year when your on-loan reserve injury cover winger gets injured in the first half hour.
Jim saints were all over us and every key indicator was well in their favour 6 12 wasn't an accurate reflection of the balance of the game and it was inevitable.

If people are upset with them laughing and joking with Saints players- Harry Newman is enjoying himself at Wembley today with Jack Welsby

Yes we were lucky Knowles and Walmsley (who normally carves us up) were not playing.
