We haven't got the best squad in the league, but they are far better than they have shown under Smith. I would like to see what a decent coach could do with this squad, because Smith is the main problem, not the players. For the live of god, go.
Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.

I personally don’t think the squad is too far off, we are however desperate for some hard running forwards.
yeah for however much people like to say he's at least trying to make a difference. bloke wants rugby league to be played in the art it is. just need someone who accepts that the English game is a rife with holding on and refs giving into crowd pressure.
I can honesty say leeds where bad but there was so much stuff let on with, just feels like a lost cause

I’m not a fan of the personal abuse he’s getting, wether you want him gone or not.
Ive said for a long time Im not sure he’s suited to coaching in SL.
He was doing great things in the QL cup and was gaining a lot of respect, he’d have probably been better staying in Aus
Christopher - he's been ruthless with the roster off season, but I'm talking about week to week as well. If players make terrible mistakes multiple times they need to be given a kick up the bum. That might mean taking them off during a game, bollocking them in training, or dropping them for the next game. I also don't see anyone in the team who is letting other players have it both barrels when they screw up badly. We barely see any reaction at all now.
Yet again we've had a two week break only to come back and play terribly. No response other than capitulation. I'm really not sure how its defensible to not make a change at some stage, though I understand the logic of not wanting to change a coach mid-season. Even the dreaded 'caretaker' approach might help if it wakes players up as well. So long as whoever gets the gig is told in no uncertain terms that they will NOT be coach next year I could live with it if the focus is then on getting the right man in for next year.

Read my post above RE cam Smith, i agree that no one is taking a hold of the team, bar maybe Ash.
There is a clear lack of leadership throughout the club at all levels from Hetherington downwards. As good as the CEO has been hes not in touch with todays game and to be fair to Smith he was lumbered with a team of back up coaches that were not his own people. Notwithstanding that other than cleansing the squad he has done nothing in the last 18 months personally to convince that he is going to improve performance. This season has to be written off and start planning for next year. The new coach should be allowed to bring a full coaching team with them and let's see if our playing roster is as good as some think as we have minimal scope in our salary cap. We badly need some leaders in our team and this should be a consideration with our recruitment.
