Penalties, and not respecting possession at times is an ongoing issue. We definitely look better with Smith at hooker. Might have been coincidence we found some shape in that last twenty minutes.

Could have genuinely won that. Two bombed tries.

If our forwards didn’t give as many stupid head high penalties and we took our chances we’d have won that.

Smith sped us up. I’ve been a critic, but thought he made a difference.

Sutcliffe made some bad, bad mistakes. Barron saved a poor game with two nice kicks, otherwise not near Martin.

You’d think we’d have learnt a lesson about that by now wouldn’t you but the coaching has and continues to be as dumb as the players.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Chris71 wrote:Don’t think it’s a coincidence since Houghton went off and Smith came on around the 60min mark we look more threatening as our speed has increased especially at dummy half. Why we persist with Houghton when he is clearly past his best and not even reliable in his defence is just another issue we continue to create.

Some seriously poor or inadequate performances again from the same culprits.

penny just didnt seem to drop with Smith or this guy

Seemed Smith brought us to life and the young kids, and Briscoe, had a dig at the end. How we can justify flogging Houghton when the difference is that stark is beyond me. Grix is clueless or simply terrorising us.

Honestly, Cas are no better than us!! A half decent second forty and we could easily pinch this!!!

Of course, that is without factoring in our ability to do something monumentally dumb at the wrong moment!! but we live in hope!!

Or maybe not!!!

Thought the energy, attitude and commitment was better than of late, but it feels like a missed opportunity to grab a rare win and it's unlikely we will get too many more as the season progresses.

Even when the effort is there our glaring lack of quality is a handicap which will be difficult to overcome. Onto Huddersfield who don't look to be in great shape either, so should be another humdinger!!!

Effort wise, far better tonight. Obviously confidence wise, probably cost us that game.

Fair play to Cas though, probably just slightly the better team overall.

Hopefully we can build on the way we finished the game and try and find a bit of confidence from that. If we can, we may just be able to escape the wooden spoon.

Danny has been the ultimate professional but he’s finished, no coincidence last twenty minutes we looked miles better. Errors and penalties cost us as usual as well as bombed tries.

Don’t believe ‘building momentum for next season’ is an actual thing.

This season is a complete write off, our worse in 20+ years. We’ll be a different side next year, I genuinely believe that. I honestly think some of our players almost know they won’t be kept on or won’t be here, plenty going through the motions.
