I know he was probably due to retire at the end of the season but it's a bit of a blow to lose him early.
I was sceptical when we signed him but he's been great for us. Sure, he makes a few mistakes but he makes up for it many times over with the hard yards he gets. He's as powerful as any forward and a throwback to when wingers had to have the strength to get in at the corner.
It leaves a gap given that Will Oakes seems to have disappeared. Hopefully we can pick up a good replacement.

Yes been really good for us, the modern game these days you need your back 3 to bring the ball back strongly to get you on the front foot, and Blackmore did that really well, a shame he can’t finish this season, down to one senior winger in the squad now as Oakes can’t seem to get fit enough to play, hope we can find a replacement that does as well as Blackmore has.

Probably a better fit for him if he can't attend the training required by EOC.
He's a great signing for them.
Suppose it comes down to that issue of whether we'll make ourselves weaker in the short term by allowing players to go that can't maintain standards and frequency of training wanted by the coach. On the field Blackmore has been really valuable for getting us on the front foot. We missed that at Batley.
He was probably going to retire at the end of the year.
