On Grix overall I think he's shown enough since Smith left to warrant the opportunity alongside Cartwright, obviously the performance against London was dire but in fairness those have been happening far too often even before he took temp charge. I understand he's been part of the coaching staff but don't think he's the reason we've been so poor or to blame for what seemed to be holiday camps as opposed to training when Smith & Gene were running things.
I wouldn't be against Grix being Cartwrights assistant, as Cartwright comes across as being his own man with a no nonsense approach. I think the signing of Cartwright is actually a better one than Rowley would have been long term.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
Shane Richardson flying to the UK. Looking to offload several NRL players
I would take Jayden Sullivan - can be magic at times, and would rip SL up. Bateman.....would rather take Whitehead I think if we could have either. Think Naden would go well over here - big centre, quick and strong but not classed as a superstar over there

Can't quote at the moment but I agree with those saying it's unfair to tarnish Grix with what happened under Tony Smith given that he hasn't been here that long nor do we know how much input he had during Smith's tenure. Did we tarnish Gareth Ellis when Radford and Hodgson left? No. So we shouldn't do the same to Grix either. I also suspect that any rumours about Myler and Grix not liking each other are just that, rumours. Otherwise Grix would have departed by now either by his choice or Myler's.
Also agree with those saying you can spot the secret Rovers fan. Noticed at least two that haven't posted much but only speak negatively when they do. One name rhymes with Bonny Lockett.

Having just listened to the House of League podcast, it came as no real shock to hear a certain journalist putting a negative spin on the appointment of Cartwright.
For what is currently available, to get a current NSW assistant through the door has to be seen as a big coup for a side that is really struggling, so fair play to the club for getting this over the line.
Our biggest fault over recent years has been recruitment, especially from overseas, so to now have a man in with a vast affiliation with clubs in the NRL has to be seen as a huge step in the right direction.
Cartwright is keen on improving the fitness and defence of the players, whilst being heavily focussed on disipline, is exactly what we need right now.

Who ever said about Cartwrights win percentage, he was coaching a brand new team that had been entered into the NRL. Look at Rowley's win percentage its one of the worse in SL but you'd of been happy with that.

His win percentage at the Titans was 46%. Something we can only dream of right now! We'll be back amongst the playoff contenders if he achieves a similar percentage with us.

If Rovers had appointed Cartwright it would have been a fantastic step on their way to world domination, but because Shaw as a fanboy cheerleader for that lot he'll always pull anything we do down.

I’ve listened to the house of league podcast and I think Shaw was more than fair and admitted from the off he didn’t know much about the man himself. Maybe it is just the media but I’m sure I’ve heard or seen either Myler or Pearson mention someone who knows SL, so it is some slight change in direction from what they originally wanted.
If you wanted to look for a bit of balance about the appointment you say the only two boxes he doesn’t tick are SL coaching experience and possibly they’d have maybe preferred someone a little younger. The boxes he does tick though are far more then anyone expected, it’s a really exciting appointment someone with such pedigree while obviously still up to date with the latest system and how the games evolved, something that maybe Tony Smith wasn’t.
