He's got a thing about centres. Spent years slagging off Yeaman, then years slagging off Griffin now it'll be Hardaker on every post until September 2026.

He’s got to finish with Sutcliffe first.

Never see Bonaire and Keef in the same place.

just looks to me that there is no real plan in either player aquisition or a new team coach.

I sort of get where you are coming from here, but the stark reality of the situation is that we are in a very weak bargaining position right now. We don't have a lot to put on the table as things stand, and results like yesterday hardly help matters.

Rugby League is a fairly small enclosed sport, it's not like there is an unending supply of top quality players for clubs to pursue. Anyone decent, be they within the NRL or SL, are likely to have more than one potential suitor and, I would guess, we will not be the most attractive option when it comes to persuading quality to join us.

For all any of us know, maybe Myler has been putting out feelers towards potential targets and he has very quickly come to the realisation that top-grade standard players are giving us a very wide berth, and so he has very quickly lowered his sights towards more realistic targets, but even then we are being dictated to by the likes of Hardaker, Holmes, Abdull, Satae and anyone else who we chase, that is the reality of the situation we are in at this moment in time.

We all want to see our club back challenging at the top and no-one on this forum is over-excited about these signings, but we have to start the road back somewhere, and these first steps back do look uninspiring, but the simply alternative is to sit and do nothing and continue going in a backwards direction. We cannot simply click our fingers and the current Australian centres will come running to us.

I get you're brassed off, we all are honestly!, but sometimes you have to accept the reality of the world around you against what you fervently wished the world could be. That is what most of us on here are trying to do. This is not how we wish the situation to be, but what it actually is. Robust debate is always healthy, especially in sport, but you'll feel better with yourself if you confront our situation and accept it, however displeasing that may be.

Come and join the rest of us bonaire, we can all be one happy family together on the long dark road ahead!!

I did say that about Satae and it looks like I was wrong, was hoping Pele turned out like Moa, but that hasn't happened.

We can laugh about Abdul's weight but he is still starting for a team joint top of SL.
Holmes, Briscoe are ok signings, we can't sign 17 new players all world beaters, but better than Mcinhtosh and Lane.

Not happy with Hardraker as I've mentioned.

I'll repeat what I've said to you multiple times, recruitment is not finished yet, probably at least 6 more players to come.

BP1 wrote:The rebuild required at the club is going to have to be done in stages. Firstly, we will need to assemble a squad who can at least steady the ship, produce slightly more consistency in performance and push us up to around 8th/9th in the table. From there we can then build on that, bringing in better players in order to challenge for a play-off spot and then from there, hopefully, to challenging once more towards the top end of the table.

As you say, the players listed above should help us in part one of the process, their experience alone should move us upward even if it is only slowly, heaven knows they cannot be worse than what we currently have.

We are not going to leap back into the top four in one fell swoop. We are currently sitting on around seven successive years of mistakes, it will probably take another seven years to undo all the wrong turnings we have made in the recent past. No-one decent will come here right now, until we can prove to the game that we have stopped being a basket-case club. If the club adopted a policy of only signing high-quality players we'll be waiting until doomsday for anyone to sign!!

We're going to have to suffer for some time. We are where we are due to our own mistakes and it is going to be a long road back with no short-cuts unfortunately.

Bang on the rebuild will happen slowly 8/9th will be an improvement you'd be happy with but problem we have is some want us to sign unrealistic targets from the NRL it isn't going to happen we need 5/6 experience SL players which we have signed with hopefully two NRL players hopefully a 9 or 7, players won't be rushing to sign for us with where we are at and people need to get their heads around it instead of living in a fantasy rugby world.

This is what has annooyed me about some of the reaction to Abdull's possible return. People saying he's not good enough for us or stating we need winners. He's playing for one of the top clubs in the league whilst we're at the bottom. I think he's shown his credentials. And as for winners, at the moment we need players that can win us a game let alone ones that can help us compete and win trophies again. We can't just click our fingers and magically start challenging again.

Thank you for your kind comments, but shouldn't you be busy loading those tankers this morning rather than plotting our return to our rightful place?!!!!! Hope you haven't left NH to do all the work as usual!!!

Hope your old man is well? Haven't seen him for a while, so trust all is good with him?

(If you're wondering who I am, the clue is in the username!! :D , have a guess, I'm sure you know who this is, don't you matey :) :) ).

Yep, agree with you. This is essentially what I have been banging on about over the past 24 hours, in my usual long-winded fashion of course :D :D .

It is likely to be a long slow road back, particularly at first. Hopefully we will see progress through 2025/26 but it may only be in short steps with most likely still the odd bump in the road along the way (this is Fc after all  ). But if we can steady the ship back to an even keel, then we address the next stage of our recovery, hopefully!!

The biggest task Myler has is to change the narrative surrounding the club, to make us look like we are once more heading in an upwards direction, that we seriously wish to compete and are taking steps to do so. In other words, remove the image of us being a 'basket-case' club as I mentioned yesterday. Until Myler can achieve that then trying to attract high quality players and coaching staff will remain highly difficult.

Talking Jordan Abdull, specifically. He clearly fits a position in which we are severely lacking, that of midfield organizer. Heaven knows we need one!! I'm hoping he is one of the people who, at the very least, gets us moving back in an upwards direction, even if it is only up to 8th/9th in the immediate future. We can then look at replacements and up-grades as we move on from there.

Like you say, this is not going to happen overnight. Whether we like it or not, we are going to have to be patient and hope that people at the club start making some right decisions rather than the misguided wrong ones which have put us in this mess to begin with.

The first steps on a long road back can sometimes be the most weary, but let's keep the faith everyone, as we usually do. There is a fine line between passion and insanity isn't there, and I reckon where our club is concerned most of us on here walk that dividing line every day of our lives    . That was certainly how I felt on Sunday evening
