While the clubs recruitment should be a lot better I do find some players motivations quite baffling, it seems Tom Johnstone who's in great form at a club that is in with a good chance of trophies has turned down marquee money to head home to Wakefield??
Some just value being close to home and familiarity above anything else.

Well we signed big men from down under in the likes of Pele and Okunbor. Fash makes them look like amateurs.
Think that says more about Pele and Okunbor than Fash. Fash is a good squad player, never lets anyone down. But he’s gone from been an able fill in to ‘one of the first names on the teamsheet’.

Johnstone has moved back to Wakey because they've got loads of money and offered him an absolute fortune. Wasn’t long ago he was raving about the life in France and Catalans and how it made him love the game again but money talks. Same will apply to McMeeken, both could have had the pick of any SL club they wanted.

Fully agree, Walker is bang average. However there are certain positions where we can only dream of being bang average at the minute, so it's not the priority. I'm hoping Moy will continue to develop to the point where he can make a case for the 1 shirt. But failing that full back is something we will need to address the following year.

Is it any slower than our 2016 backline which could and arguably should have won the treble? Talanoa, Yeaman, Fonua and Michaels was hardly rapid. I'd like to get more pace in the backline too but its not the be all and end all.

Which is another reason why we need to get our recruitment right for next season , there's a risk that Wakey will have a better side than us next season and we'll be in a battle with Cas/Toulouse for the wooden spoon

Disagree. We’ll see the best of Walker in a higher quality team. He’s got it, more than most of our squad.
