Same.
Other week RS had me agreeing with a Bradford fan, this week it's Wilkin. That's horrible
I'm still watching Leeds and wanting to see signs of recovery under RS; we need bodies back to do that.
However. He has left himself at risk of bad luck now: if Croft or one or two other key players gets injured, I don't think he'll survive the backlash from fans simply on the number of losses, and I think his recruitment has been too patchy so far.
I'm not sure Rowley is the right man to replace him if it happens, or if he would come. Demetriou is a potential candidate; his star was very high over there for a while, he knows the English game - maybe he would take the chance to rebuild his reputation at Leeds.
I'm also thinking Shaun Wane. I know people thought Wigan were boring under him but his record is pretty good - and what he is, arguably, is what we need for a young squad. He has faith in young lads but he's also disciplinarian and structured.
Ryan Carr is the other one who had a really good rep while he was here, spend a little time at Leeds before heading out down under again, never heard a bad word said about him but don't know if he'd come.

From the outside looking in, the number of ex-players in administrative and coaching roles at Leeds looks questionable. Are these people in place on merit other than distant achievements on the playing field? I guess it is common at a lot of SL clubs.

Having a poor coach dramatically reduces your chances.
I know this is revolutionary stuff.
Agreed, and let’s not pretend there’s not an element of luck involved. RS had a similar pedigree to Woolf and Holbrook, who came over and were brilliant. Wire took a huge gamble in appointing Sam Burgess who doesn’t have a fraction of RS’s coaching experience.
I’m not saying Wire will win the comp, but I know who I’d rather have in charge right now.
RS was always a hugely risky move. Time for GH to come out and admit this punt has worked out and move on asap. I still think a decent coach could get a lot out of this squad.
Sam B will most likely just bide his time before going back to Aus I think. Also he's a petulant fella when he wants to be, he needs to grow up a bit to be a head coach frankly.
What he does do is inspire the team and clearly drills hard defence into them, as you would expect. You can at least see his influence on them.
Against us, Wire have been the best side I've seen this year so far, I thought they looked very good.
I still don't think the squad we have is quite there. We have work to do with a couple more key signings; coaching appointments will likely change at the end of the year in some form or another.

The revisionism on this forum in the last few weeks really has been epic. We've been hearing that Furner would have been a better coach than Smith if only JJB hadn't complained and got GH and Sinfield to cut short his tenure, and now being an underdog is a sign of a team playing poorly. Jesus wept.
I'll raise your epic and put down irrelevant the current team is not remotely close to the above mentioned title winning teams. My question to the more knowledgeable attendees on here is who/when/and how are we going to challenge for silverware?
