It’s sounds strange to say this, but Fridays game isn’t the worst loss to take of the season. Few young players in, south of France is a tough place to go, I think winning would have been very tough. And the score line did blow out towards the end.
It’s all the stats around the season which are totally unacceptable. London, Hull FC and Castleford and three of the most disgraceful sides ever to grace SL, and to say they are outperforming us in territory and errors is utterly unacceptable.
Yes, the coach is clearly not up to it, but who are the players taking responsibility? Who is going to tell Miller he can’t take drop outs or kick offs anymore, as he’s made way too many errors on them. Who is driving the standards on the pitch and at training, which simply allow such poor technical performance. I don’t mind the young players making mistakes, but how many players of 100 senior games plus are just not up to standard. How come Sam Walters leaves and tells us the training is harder at Wigan. And how come Hurrell, who was utterly garbage for us, has now won a grand final. All this talk of culture and players liking each others company and being connected is utter nonsense. Who is going to be an a****ole screaming at other players to do better the way Danny mags used to.

Every. Single. Word. Of. This. The biggest problem is the passive culture, no one anywhere in the club is holding people to high enough standards.
It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.
I'm sure it's already been said but, Corey Johnson, why? 3 minutes! And still sangare gets picked what does he offer that TNW couldn't. Injuries accepted smiths squad decisions tactics and ability to get what's available to play to their potential is sadly lacking.

I like TNW but he is small for a prop. He look more like a chunky 13 to me to be honest. Saw him play at York and he didn’t stand out against men.

We need more players who can inspire through their quality.
Having said that we need to stop being soft on these kicking errors from certain players: give the responsibility to someone else.
Danny Mags and JP were both very vocal on the field, and were legends in their roles and played massive parts in very successful teams. Teams that included the likes of Ian Kirke and Liam Sutcliffe s regulars for example so not full of Superstars. It’s not the only way to hold people responsible for their performances but it can be a very effective way of snapping people out of the malaise we seem to have so many people in at the moment.

I feel like you’re misrepresenting my post, and then making the same point I am.
And for the point on screaming at each other not winning rugby games, patting each other on the bum after dropping the ball and collective breathing sure ain’t working!
The point is senior players drive the standards in a playing group. Sinfield did it through professionalism, peacock did it by playing standards, and McGuire did it by tearing people a new one on the pitch.

In any walk of life if you are holding other people responsible for their performance, you’ve already lost. People should be motivated to be responsible for their own performance.
Most players will be harder on themselves making mistakes than anyone else.
