Strange Ian, because i did. Last year sides threw the ball out wide to undo us due to our lack of pace on the wings. This year, they use their quick men in the middle because you have recruited the slowest spine in superleague. It is no coincidence that French and Field had their best games of the season against us, the space they had in the middle of the park was ridiculous. You thought that signing Connor and Milner, and using Golding as acting half was good enough. It isn't. Connor is a terrible signing for us, i don't care how many times he plays a wonder pass or does something special. He needs quick players to cover for him because he is waaaaay too slow, and we don't have them. Better coaches have realised this and told their quick men to go at us from dummy half and first receiver in the middle of the park, and it works.

I will keep saying it, although noone on our boards seems to care, but maybe someone is reading. Watson has wasted the money he has been given to recruit and has built a totally imbalanced side. We have no recognised support player in the side, usually that is your fullback but ours is half an hour too slow, so we should have recruited a fast pacey half back or hooker who can support, but we didn't. Never mind we have blown our budget for next year on Tom Burgess, just what we need to sort out our pace problems! We look decent moving the ball and can play decent Rugby when we get it to Marsters and Swift but all good sides know our achillees heel, which is in the middle of the field and will exploit it ruthlessly.

When we make a break, we don't finish it because we don't have the pace (English's break in this game is a great example). When other sides make a break in the middle of the park we don't have the pace to stop the move and they score. French and field today were having a total field day knowing how slow connor is and that once they broke the line it was a try every time.

Having spent the joint 3rd most cap in the league and having a spine that has no pace and no recognised support player is beyond belief and yet Ken persists with wasting his money on supporting Watson.

Agree with most of that and would like to be more positive but the last few seasons have more or less killed my enthusiasm and interest has dropped. Surely Ken Davy can see that the club is stagnating and needs impetus. This is Watson team now but we are miles off challenging and at the moment I doubt I would renew my season ticket

It's a complete wonder to me that anyone goes down to watch them, The whole club is a joke and Ian watson is completely out of his depth. I Mr Davy cant see that he deserves all he gets, let him keep pouring his money down the drain

Wigan's players in key positions (having thought about it) in most positions are simply better than ours!

And two of them are products of our academy

I agree with Fartown 58, they have better players in almost every position. Their back 7 have played almost every game this season, and have lots of pace. I thought we had turned a corner with resilience after winning at Leeds but the last 2 weeks have been woeful. I'm afraid a number of players looked below super league quality, Greenwood was poor, and I'm afraid Milner and Golding are never going to challenge the better teams around the ruck. I'll go to the semi final but have little hope atm. Marsters looked very dangerous again.

It's not the fact that Wigan have better players in every position that i have a problem with, they spend more cap than us, and have a far easier time recruiting, have the best youngsters around coming through their system and will get better players on less money than a team like us due to their history and pedigree. It's teams like Salford, Hull KR, Leigh and Warrington having better spine players than us despite spending less cap that i have a problem with. They all have the same problems we have attracting better players, but have spent their money FAR better than us. We have spent big on players in the wrong positions, or players who do not complement what we already had (Connor). How much of this is down to Watson i don't know, but the staff at Huddersfield seem utterly clueless about how to build a successful side. I would take the spine of any side in superleague except Hull , London and Cas over ours. Lolohea has seen better days, Clune is fine, but no world beater, Connor is in the wrong side as he relies on creating chances for others and Milner, Golding and Russell are purely grafters who create nothing.

We will win absolutely nothing with Milner & Goulding playing hooker.

O for having a Levi or Bradley Drew.
