Talking of niggles/rests and Liam Byrne, I saw mention somewhere from Peet where he said the rest has done him good. He wasn't fully fit after the WCC and missed a couple of games and it's been a stop start time so far for him but I'm hoping we see the benefits of that rest tonight and in the next few weeks. He's pretty important to the side IMO and offers us something different to the other props via his aggressive defence and line speed. I talked last week about which props are nailed on in a top 17 and I'd have Thompson and Havard as that, with Dupree and Byrne just off being totally nailed on but both could make themselves un-droppable in these next few weeks, with the big games we have coming up (in truth I think Byrne is likely to be nailed on in Peets 17 anyway).
Tbh after the decision with Havard (and in the past with other players) I don't have full confidence that we know when to bring players back, and when not to. Will just see how it goes.
Trips, forward passes, high tackles all going un-punished plus legal tackles being deemed penalties all going against us plus a perfectly legitimate try disallowed.
We are talking about 2 top teams here not a pub side with a Sunday league chairman.
