Some of this had been u8s stuff.
Attitude shocking, that right edge is very poor.
Personally think Keighran had been very average so far in his Wigan career, would love to have King back.
Keep coming back to it but the contact in defence has been terrible.
I’d be looking to drop one of Mago or Ellis next week for Hill. Big fan of Ellis but he’s well off the pace and Mago after a great start to the year looks to have slipped back into a place where attitude/desire seems way off. If Eseh were fit I’d have dropped them both.
I was a bit tempted, partly because HKR is the only SL ground, other than Cats, that I haven't been to. But I thought, nah, I'll make do with listening to Mills and Bilko. Not sorry now! It can't have been much fun coming home on that coach. Still got a ticket for the Cup game, though.
A poor performance but there were enough signs that we'll be ok in the semi in a few weeks.
Just totally out-enthused, uncharacteristic errors and soft defence. Our first contact was shocking.
I hope our best 17 is picked over the next two weeks to build into Doncaster. Every time we've rested a few players, the week after we've looked clunky.
It's a long, old season but let's reassess this in 3 weeks time.
Your lads were obviously not at the races last night for some reason, it happens, I think it's an attitude issue, we went over to Catalans last week and never got off the bus, but it's sometimes a good thing getting a performance like this, puts your feet back on the ground and it wouldn't surprise me if you went on a big winning run now, like what happened after last seasons CC semi. Matty Peets a top coach, humble guy in his interviews too, he'll have you bouncing after this.
Also, how good were both Luke Thompson and Dean Hadley minutes wise, massive minutes from the pair of them in what was a good physical battle,
Wigan had their worst performance in a long time whilst Hull KR's big loss to Catalan lit a fire in their bellies that spurred them to victory.
I like Hull KR and last night was an immense turnout from the team, credit where it's due, what a fantastic season they're about to have.
Wigan, however, looked like they were recovering from a bad hangover from a night out on the drink. Almost everyone looked off, however, I don't believe it's the end of the world. Wigan, like HKR, will bounce back from an embarrassing display.
A few positives: - Mago continues to be our best forward, despite the game being gone he was hitting the line hard and looking for the offload, passing short or out the back to create space. - Harvard looked quality, what a miss he's been. - Nsemba is young and inexperienced, surrounded by veterans who simply didn't pull their weight, but he still made some solid runs and flattened some KR would-be tacklers. He'll be the best forward in England soon. - Field tried. He's out of form, but he was really trying and often made breaks/half-breaks but our attack rarely supported him.
Overall, a few individuals trying but the cohesion has eroded and as a whole the team was poor.
We'll bounce back from this, as others said, a loss like this has been coming for some time and Wigan have the character to use this loss as a platform to rebuild our team.

Personally and I've thought this all season - we're missing Smithies. We're also probably missing the defensive efforts of Powell too. Both played a huge part in setting the standards in defence last year.

Smithies without a doubt and Powell to a degree but I’m not hugely concerned with his exit. I’d add KPP and in particular Toby King also. The work King did from our end offered a huge pressure release and Keighran doesn’t provide that.
