Yeah so been coaching for 10 years ish looks like, assistant to Price at Wire and signed 5 year contract with York from 2022. He just seems to do well with lower-resourced sides and seems to get teams working together well.

I think the main criticism of BM was that we mostly player averagely throughout the season with our best playing group ever, and then turned it on when it came to the play-offs. We also played some dire rugby under BM, 2015 being the exception to both those points.
With Smith, we're playing dire rugby and not looking like we'll even make the play-offs.
I do slightly disagree with your post about Miller. Either the comms (from team or sideline) or the systems were not working during that play. It's the coaches job to make sure the right players are making the calls, or setting systems in place to make sure it doesn't happen. So in that sense, I do blame Smith.
Excuses for coach and players alike at elite level Rugby doesn't cut it for me someone needs to take ownership of the results so far 100% effort is none negotiable its that simple.

Yes he worked wonders at Wire
And as for your earlier statement of taking 6 wins out of our next 10 , after seeing the fixture list i could coach us to 5 wins out of that lot , so really the target is one out of five against decent sides because if we cant beat Hull twice , London twice and Cas at home then we are in a bigger mess than i thought

Slight chance of topic, what are your thoughts on Mcdermott, on paper looks great and has been linked with Hull, most Hull fans including me don't want him but just can't put my finger on what?

I believe there's a several hundred page thread titled something like 'For the live of God, Allah or whomever, please go Brian' that summarises the views of this forum

What are your thoughts?
Everything we won when he was here was inspite of him, apparently.

You're in the wrong place if you want consistency and logic.
It was probably right for him to go at the time, but again that was a result of terrible signings for years and I'm not sure how much of that was him and how much GH/budgets or whatever at the time. Really hard to say unless you were in the bubble at the time.
What exactly is “something in the playoffs”? A victory and then getting knocked out? A battling defeat to Huddersfield? It’s so vague and far-reaching. Leeds should be aiming to win the grand final, every season. Is that realistic? Not in reality, but that should be the aspiration.
So nowhere this season and then top 4 next season, that’s your aim? That would mean it had taken Smith 3 full seasons to simply get us in the top 4. That’s absurd. Again, people are obsessed with this long, drawn out arduous transition period.
Wigan have a model of bringing through their own coaches. Saints have always been able to find the best from overseas willing to join SL. Smith is neither, he’s meh, nothingness.
Leeds need a proven head coach. They can’t be effectively taking a punt on someone just because they got a championship side offloading and scoring a few tries, Jesus.
I’m not saying they are gettable, but Ian Watson for example. Proven at this level, and taken teams to major finals. That’s the profile of coach Leeds need.
It's not just about results but performances that show the team is going in the right direction and that's not what we're seeing even going back to that cas win that was still a greatly flawed performance.
Smith didn't kick that miller drop out or tell him to directly, but he's absolutely set the system and ethos of this corner cuttingb/ trick plays and though I'm all for play what's in front of you rugby it's gone too far the other way (and as i was berated for saying earlier in the year) at the cost of high quality fundamentals
