Anyone heard anything as to why we are so skint ?seems like we went from being ok to not having a playing budget to releasing a couple of players but still not having much or little funds . Did hear a rumour but reticent to say much .
I do not know about our current finances, but i do remember the old board saying one of the main reason they gave control of the club to this current board was because they had more funds to take the club forward. I would be very surprised if we are spending more on players now than we did under the old board.

Terry has hit on what is really annoying me last year and this. The new board took control promising investment and blue skys going forward, in reality we have go backwards on the pitch and are operating with a very skinny squad. Just where has all the promised investment gone, or was it just a ploy so certain people can lord it about. In my world, if you make promises you keep them.
I’d guess that the missing out on the playoffs and also winning the 1895 as we were close to running at a loss with everything the club had to pay out including win bonuses for the players.
Eden and Widdop I imagine have eaten in to a decent amount of any playing budget we had also. Big names come at a price.

I think some of you guys are underestimating the impact of our desperately unlucky injuries, We had 6 of our best players missing (half of the starting line up) against Widnes - Eden, Crookes, Keyes, Douglas, O' Brien and Calcott. Give the lads a break!

Absolutely! The Hammersmith game in particular was horrific and almost ruined the season before it started. On the other hand you could say what is the point of splashing the cash/any cash when there's no reward for it come the end of the season. It's like, do i go to Morrisons for my shopping or call at the local food bank? Same result but one's a lot cheaper albeit not the same quality.

Trouble is if you dont put a competitive, entertaining team out,you take away the sole surviving reason the 10% of us that's left bother wasting our £20 plus at all...

True, it's a viscous circle.
