Hope Willie recovers well as he needs more match balls for his collection. One of my favourites is Isa 100% commitment for the cause, plays with a smile on his face and a total gent off the pitch.
Grade F charge for Namo from the game. I haven't seen it confirmed but that is presumably from the Isa incident. To pick up an injury like that from what looks like foul play must be a hard pill to swallow for Isa.

On first look i didnt see much, but on review he dives in, loses his feet off the ground and brings his knee forwards to the area were Isas foot is planted and lands on his ankle with his knee with his full weight as he's dove rather than stayed in his feet in control

Just watched it now. It's clumsy rather than malicious by the looks of things. He'll likely get a decent ban based on the end result. It definitely wasn't pretty Isa's ankle and it was no surprise it took the players a while to get their focus again.
I imagine we can call all bad contacts are accidental or clumsy unless we believe a player is just going in to cause injury. It looks like clumsy with poor technique, he's not in control of his own body never mind player he's tackling, sliding knee hits Isa from side where his ankle lower leg injury occurs, he's probably going in with way more force than is needed as a third man. Be a real shame if that's the end for Isa, he's a great squad member on and off the field.

I think for teams to have truly special seasons there needs to be a bit of external motivation and emotion to build the story of the year, players leaving, coaches leaving or injury.
Matty Peet now has that narrative on which to make this season very special.
Isa is a leader and hugely popular within the group and without doubt his injury should be used to motivate his teammates further to succeed this year and make it very special.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

True enough. It is very rare you'll see a player go in and you think they have tried to hurt somebody but it's no excuse I guess. I don't think the conditioning of some of the Cas players would help in comparison to the top sides, as they tire. When I've watched them in the last couple of years it's been striking how far behind they look in terms of fitness. All of the players are full time professionals but some don't look like they're doing anymore than lads you see in the Championship and League one, who train a couple of times a week. It's a bitter better this season, now some of the older players have moved on but it's still a way off where it needs to be.
makes you wonder why some teams are so out of shape compared to others? unless castleford's S&C coach is doing something idiotic, the general case is "push as hard as you can and still recover from". being full time means the recovery side is about as optimal as it gets; eat when you want, sleep properly, take naps, minimal stressors and so on
