I’m not saying it will be a smooth road or a title is a given. just that they don’t seem as flakey. Using youngsters and non 1st team players rather than trying to shoe horn 1st choice players into a position is also a good sign.
I know what you mean but the "false dawn" of the 8 games of 2023 is still fresh in the memory.

I agree W71 but I never felt those 8 games truly reflected where we were, BUT I certainly didn’t expect us to fall off a cliff in the way we did! It feels like our foundations are more solid this season (fingers etc crossed).
Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Funny how its gone with Burgess isnt it.... when he was appointed, there was a load on here up for lynching Moran.. who made the decision to appoint.... i cba going back to dig up the thread, but there were plenty of people with bad things to say about the appointment.... im pretty sure there were also people wanting Tony Smith back.

Thank god Holbrook turned us down!
Despite the aura and relationships with players I love the way he listens and doesn’t think he knows it all despite his standing in the game. Imagine if Currie had asked Powell if he could play loose forward or Max Wood asking him to go out on loan…..they’d probably have been shipped off permanently.
If we make it to Wembley and if Wigan make it too. We owe them big time for 89/90.
Didn't we knock Saints out away from home in 1993/94 in the Cup? That was my first year of watching. I'm pretty sure Steve Prescott had a nightmare on the wing for Saints.
Unless this was the Regal Trophy of course, it's easy to forget we used to have several competitions pre-SL.
