It looks like we've not really had a good pre season at all. Lots of muscle injuries, and sometimes looking like we don't have the fitness to sustain a performance for 80 minutes.



More worrying is our defensive line looks far more easily breached. The three tries in the second half (excluding the last second gift) came from players either rushing out of the line (Charnley and Hardaker), or concentrating too much on someone else's man (Lam). I'm not sure you can blame injuries for that, and we won't win many games unless it is fixed.



Also, if we're going to continue to concentrate on attacking down the left, then the wingers should swap sides.

The unprecedented epidemic of torn calf injuries is unlikely to be down to bad luck.



I hope Derek’s calculations making us a Grade A next season are accurate.

The increasing number of soft tissue injuries at the Leigh Sports Village has left Lam and the rest of the coaching staff scratching their heads, with questions continuing to be asked about training methods.



Lam also pointed to the lack of a strength and conditioning coach at the beginning of pre-season after the role was left vacant by an impromptu departure.



We’ve had those conversations over and over again (about soft tissue issues), it’s a difficult one, some are bad luck like Edwin’s. But we had a change of strength and conditioning coach at the start of pre-season.
