The rebuild that started in 2020 with the sacking of Radford and appointment of Hodgson, then re started with the appointment of Smith, and now restarts again sorting the mess we're in? Do you actually think there's a rebuild plan in place or just a badly mismanaged club making it up as they go along and using buzzwords like rebuild and culture every so often tomgive fans a tiny bit of hope and encourage them to keep buying passes?

We can all cry as much as we want but its all about hope innit when there's not a lot else to grasp onto.

It's the hope that kills you.

I'm more optimistic this time around. I genuinely think he's going at it a little different in the certain knowledge investment is coming.

Accentuating the positive I feel 100% better about the progress of the club then I did this time last week.

I feel that it is sometimes underestimated how much success depends on circumstances rather than primarily on expertise and effort. I’m not saying there’s been no ineptitude but…

Under other circumstances, Smith has shown he can be a successful coach. And Pearson has shown he can be a successful owner. Things have changed since he took over, in the economy, in media, with the pandemic. All stuff that was beyond Pearson’s control.

Now Hull need an injection of capital to get them back on an even keel. It’s not Pearson’s fault that (so far) no benefactor has emerged willing to put in the money for the love of the club and to chase on-field success as a top priority. They’re increasingly vital but hard to find, you’ll remember the Tony Larvin thing, I’m sure.

In the absence of a benefactor, it sounds like he’s trying to do the next best thing.
Fwiw, and acknowledging that everybody hears what they expect to hear, I took ‘at various stages’ to likely mean initial enquiries and preliminary discussions rather than well advanced. I suspect the end of the year thing is a timeline driven by when the next repayment is due more than creating optimism ahead of the 2025 renewals period.

'Thus I am tormented by my curiosity and humbled by my ignorance.' from History of an Old Bramin, The New York Mirror (A Weekly Journal Devoted to Literature and the Fine Arts), February 16th 1833.

Sounds like its been in the pipeline at least a couple of weeks so not sure it'scompletely unplanned.

Mismanagement possibly yes, hence the appointment of a DOR to assist. Pearson said this himself last night that the focus needs to shift to scrutinising how the salary cap is being spent, rather than the amount. Seems fair to me.

People don't have to buy passes. You've been one of the posters calling for change, Smith has gone and changes are happening. It's up to you whether you get behind that or not :)
