Can't believe there's FC fans defending Hoy. The guy has always been a corn on the cob. And it looks like he gets that from his old fella.

He came across here last season giving it the big-un that they would destroy Rovers in his interviews. His comments stuck on the Rovers dressing room wall was Gold for Willie Peters team talks.

And what did Hoy serve up in the year and half he was here? Nothing, he was absolute garbage. A very average championship player at his very inconsistant best.

Good riddence to bad muck.

Hull Live still think Tex is going despite today's news. Suppose a new coach would still want a quota place to play with

Sounds like a new overseas 7 and a backrower.

I think we are just a bit more circumspect. Even kinder. New country, new culture always put effort in. And is a good player just not in these circumstances . You have to know these folk better before you disrespect imo. Anyone who crosses the whitewash to play this game deserves aforementioned respect. Sad that it hasn’t worked out

But problem here is who has agreed to sign these players? Last thing we need is overseas signings a new coach doesnt want

Yes. Also he didn't say we'd "destroy" Rovers, he said something like we'd not lose a derby, which turned out to not be the case but was not something to knock him for.

Extracts from what Hoy actually said:

"I have heard that the Hull Derby is so important before I even came over.

We won't lose one while I'm here for sure- that's my goal not to lose one of those- and hopefully we will be the strongest Hull team in the competition.

Hull fans have all their songs and chants which I am looking forward to hearing and they will be sure to give you a big kick up the backside if you are struggling."

My Hull family is split down the middle on Hull v Rovers so certainly was a huge talking point.
