Like it or not their recruiment in the last couple of years has been far, far better than ours.

They don’t promote youngsters though….They sooner sign players than promote from within so wouldn’t be a good move for him.Their recruitment maybe better than ours and have the pep guardiola of rugby in charge but still won sod all and are way off competing with Wigan,Sts and Catalan.

He may have been injury prone the last couple of seasons and hardly played but that’s the way it was but to say Carlos who is disrespectful to a player who helped us to 2 Wembley wins and gave 100% to the club and is one of the best imports we have had.

Rovers recruitment was nothing special until the money came rolling in (due to luck about the council giving them the land) we are unfortunate that SL has allowed 3 x marquee players at a time when we cant afford them.

I understand that without this rule the Welsby's and French's would depart from the NRL and I agree that the league was being held back by the likes of Wakefield not investing, but the downside is its become a league of haves and haves not.

How long will the money roll in though and they pull out. They are cagey with attendances, not got a big ground and they could end up doing a Salford and Koukash

Id agree that theres no guarantee the wealthy investors will stay motivated if sucess doesnt follow, and I think they are about at their limit crowd wise (takes years to grow a fan base) but id much rather be in their position right now.

Koucash never had as much money as he claimed, and Salford is a football town even if they did the treble year on year I doubt crowds would be that big (stadium being out of town not helping them either)

Tbf, that is pretty much every sporting league everywhere. RL did it's best to keep it level for awhile. As long as there are 3 or 4 clubs that can keep pace with each other it should maintain a reasonably entertaining league.
It's unfortunate that we're currently firmly in the 'have not' category and it's something we have to get used to.
If, and its a big if, we can get a committed team that can at least compete even if it can't win often then I can live with that. Ultimately there are relatively few teams supporters in any sport that can look forward to watching their team win trophies.

I dont disagree, with the benefit of hindsight SL strangled its big clubs in the 90s/00s/10s to keep the stragglers afloat and also wasted time on fantasy projects like Toronto.

And yes if we were losing games narrowly but still near the bottom id content with that right now.

God your right, never thought of it like that. You've got me wishing we was in your position now, if only Smith had stayed and we had no investment then we wouldn't be worried about going bust.

Clever protest by your lot on Saturday, going dressed as seats was genius

Bit of thread drift going on now , with the wild speculation about Rovers.

Should really concentrate on any realistic targets for 2025.....
