I dunno, success is complex. Watching last night, I just didn’t feel our side is good enough still. We obviously lack size in the middle and pace out wide - Roberts is really a centre and Frawley is too slow for a half.
I think RS will be under lots of pressure if we lose the next few. Huddersfield isn’t a walk-in win. He’s also under pressure if the players don’t back him.
There are glimmers of good stuff happening at Leeds but it is pretty depressing we aren’t better by now.

Our side may not be good enough to win the league but they are a better set of players than they are showing under Smith. That is the main issue for me. He isnt getting the best out of the players, and hasnt for over a year.
Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.

Compare and contrast the quality of coaches at Saints compared to Leeds. Holbrook and Wolfe were barely known outside of the inner sanctum of the NRL. Yet Saints managed to spot them and recruit them. Leeds simply don't possess that skill level in spotting this talent.
I have asked this before why are we not able to bring top coaches through the system like Wellens or Peat or Wane. The development at Leeds of both players and coaches is woeful.
That’s because Hetherington does the “talent spotting” when he bobs off to Australia for his annual holiday paid for by the club otherwise known as the supporters money from season tickets and look what Hetherington has produced as a result.
Old saying. BUY CHEAP BUY TWICE
Smith will never be a decent coach and Leeds will never thrive again in this new era until Hetherington is removed
How much longer are we going to have to put up with this dross? Even under Furner we weren't this bad. Warrington played at 90 mph unlike leeds cart horses. What do short kick offs gain? Probably 12 points conceded that's what. Complete lack of any ideas or or skill. It was embarrassing. What the hell do the the caching staff do all week? Because the team can't run, catch, kick,or tackle. Smith said we weren't as bad as the score suggests. Was he watching the same game. Shocking absolutely shocking.

Newman, Handley, Cam Smith, McDonnell, Martin and some others have all played well consistently under Smith / played well this year.
What has been consistent IMO is silly errors. I can’t honestly put my finger on why: Smith does not coach professional players to drop the ball. He does need to rein Miller in.
We have been unable to build consistent pressure on the opposition for ever now.
The problem is that even *if* we sacked RS, we need to replace him with a top proven quality coach and likely others to help him.
Who would want to come to Leeds that sits in that bracket ?. We burn through coaches early, skimp on costs and would be starting with another coaches team for two + years.
We are reaping the rewards of doing things cheap, screwing the academy progression, poor retention/ signings / re signings and trying to redesign how RL should be played

Agree about the errors. The players you mentioned have played well as individuals under Smith, but that is the problem. He has failed to mould them into anything resembling a decent team.

Outsider looking in, Smith is coaching a team with very little basic structure to fall back on when under pressure. Last season he tried to play expansive rugby from anywhere on the pitch worked for a short period but the percentages for consistent success is low. . The likes of Wigan, Saints and Catalan have great basic defensive structures with controlled attacks, it looks as though Warrington have joined the party as well this season. . Leeds play too much off the cuff rugby which can break down quickly and they end up under pressure. Hull KR and Salford are similar but perhaps do it a little bit better because of team work, Leeds don't look like a "togetherness team" and Rohan Smith is responsible for that.
The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you. Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.
