I don't get the whole, no Pearson no club line, we didn't say no hetherington no club did we? If Pearson was prepared to take over the club in 2011 or whenever it was , why wouldn't someone else take over from Pearson

Two reasons
Club is in a worst position, certainly players wise Sport is in a worst place, less funding.
Sure Pearson only came in as he saw a way to make some money, ended up being a fan.
Only person to invest in a club would be a fan or someone who thinks they can get something out of it.

Pearson saw an opportunity in 2011 to buy a club that had started to be neglected and he thought he'd throw some money in and crowds and trophies will follow.
He firstly struggled with RL politics, the RFL/SL seem to have big meetings where they vote for whatever short sighted idea suits them 'another loop game with a clubcall for who plays who, lets play it on the road in Wales!' and for me the game lost focus in the 2010s.
I think he then realised our crowds (and therefore income) dont actually fluctuate that much, even in good seasons in 2016/2017 it was only a modest boost. Then add in the stadium deal and declining SKY money and you are aiming at a very small profit only. Covid of course was a curve ball nobody expected but even without that I suspect we'd just be treading water, the game isn't rich enough and faces more and more compeition for viewers.

I received an email from the Club that was ‘positive’ and I’ve since heard strong whispers in the ‘business’ community that something is ‘likely’ to happen. I’ve tempered my posts with ‘May’ ‘likely’ etc so as not to disappoint

It was a personal email - nothing more than that It’s unlikely I’d ever receive a personal email again if I pop it on here breaking confidentiality etc
I don’t think any poster on here would post the email
Suffice to say I was hoping to spread some Easter cheer After that shocker on GF

Fair enough, I hope what you're saying is true. Just my normal Hull FC pessimism setting in that it's probably too good to be true.
