Even Dan Tomlinson doesnt have the balls to ask Smith outright why he wont play Balmforth or keeps selecting Houghton who is playing with an injury.
Another heavy defeat looming with fans demanding change.
Maybe this is Pearsons cunning plan to let the abject Smith fall on his own sword by forcing his resignation after the game therefore saving a few bob rather than paying him off

Think this match will be a lot closer than most think on here. Experienced them since the mid- forties and surprises do occur!

The last I attended was at Wembley in 1980 when I managed to fit the occasion into a business trip from Aus.

I think we will see more effort but after 60 mins the hammer may fall

We may try harder but we don’t have a game plan

We don’t know how to defend properly

We’re not match fit or match sharp which is a little different to being fit

We’ve an unsettled team and we’re playing a very confident side who really want to win even more than we do

It may look like we try harder but I sense a last quarter melt down and a

52-4 home win

Then Smith will say the culture improved and just hang in there like a
Lemon

Giants at home the following week is not a game I will stay up to 2am for the kick off but rather watch at 9am the next morning

That could be gruesome as well

I have lost interest

Having watched this Derby I shall definitely stay up for the following 2am match Wigan v St Helens. As for the Huddersfield match I will follow your plan.

Small steps.

Play with 13 men for a full first half.
Score more than one try in the first half (only happened once this season).
Score more than two tries in a game (Only happened once this season and twice in 12 games)
Concede less than 50.

Not very confident of these happening never mind winning

Is playing Jack Charles classed as a roll of the dice or a smart choice. I’ve seen him play 3-4 times and looked good as a Hb but defensively fragile. What was he like against hudds defensively.

I think I’d like to see us go

1. Hoy
6 Charles
7. Smith
9. Brown

Our best chance is to get the pack on top and quick PTB with NU getting to play. I’m not as critical of DH as others but it’s fair to say he lacks zip and that’s probably why what we need

Scrap Tony's chuck it round philosophy, we need to earn the right to do that. Get back to 5 hard drives and a decent kick at the end of each set.

We need to score first otherwise heads will drop very quickly and it'll be a long afternoon.

Great article and to anyone questioning whether there is a culture issue at the club, read Ellis's words and try to deny it after that.
