I'd be disappointed, not kicked on like I hoped, but still a good player with potential. Unless we can replace him with a player who is as good or better on his salary, its not a great move.
Brown's a good young prop and will be a solid SL player over the next few years but ultimately there will be one thing that holds him back from becoming top quality imo and that's like a lot of our young forwards his size (or lack of), unfortunately it's the same with fash, lane, cator, laidlaw.
I'd personally put brown and someone like storton (who he'd likely replace?) in a similar bracket in terms of ability and potential.
Whether he goes across there or not remains to be seen but he's got more chance of playing every week here at the moment, but we've all heard this rumour before.
Certainly wouldn’t get into a bidding war for Jack Brown. Would be worth another year but don’t know if he’ll ever be more than a 5th choice prop, especially if we wanna progress. Not much in it between Brown and Storton either.
I'd make a Brown an offer to stay as he does add good depth at likely a cheap wage, but as others have said I wouldn't then get into a bidding war for him. If he wants to go then fair enough he isn't worth breaking the bank to keep. If Bullock ends up been available (and has a decent year) then I'd rather have him over Brown. Keeping both would be ideal but only if the price is right.
