A great backs to the wall defensive display. To restrict Catalan to 1 try with all the territory they had was an amazing effort. Our defence looked well organised throughout. The worry is that like the 2nd half at HKR last week, I'm not sure we can give teams that much field position and ball every week and come out on top.
Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.
We are making too many errors again and putting pressure on ourselves. Miller is a little worrying at the back at times he made another 3 errors today and I think each was around our 20….
Great win especially given the weather which gave them even more of an edge in the forwards. Incredible defence of the line. Have we conceded a line break in open play this season? Croft looks every inch the player I hoped he'd be. Newman looks a really strong athlete now and hopefully his injury woes are behind him. Ruan showed me enough to make me think he should always be in over Donaldson. Like many others Rohanball is no good for my nerves or the colour of my hair, but there is definitely something in it if it's tempered. His record against Catalans is now 5 wins against 2 losses, and the losses came with half strength teams.
A win fashioned from dogged defence and a well under par Cats. Thought we were in for a really long afternoon given the first 20 mins, but we did well to hang in there and hold them out. We did show some flashes going forward at times, so something to build on.
Smith, Newman and Croft all excellent today. There's a lot to like about Miller, but he has to try to cut the errors out. Would like to see him get some open space. Sangare and Goudemand both did well against a big, tough pack. And I like the look of Ruan, he's got the size and seems to have something about him. Hope he develops at prop and we see more of him. Momirovski was good as well. Very solid in defence and offered a bit when we got in their half! And a shout out to Roberts. Did everything expected of him. Bentley continues to massively frustrate. He's all heart and energy and gets under their skin. but he's brain dead at times.
