Its not just about size, they are different players, with different skill sets. You use Smith as a starting prop, you are asking him to do more hard carries, which will use more of his energy, probably limiting his minutes.

Yep and I'm saying Smith is effective in the middle anyway, where he plays usually full games and still carries and tackles with high stats. I'm just suggesting using him as a bit of a pack horse (with an offload), whilst allowing O'Connor to play more game time, who has a great engine. This also allows for Ackers to play 80 mins which I think he's capable of, leaving us more rotations for the big bodies against Cats.
I've thought for a while that Ackers is a bit wasted in 50 min spells trying to give O'Connor game time. Jarrod has put a fair bit of size on over the past couple of years, I think he could slot into the back row more now.
There's an argument to select Ruan again, but not for 7 mins please RS... hopefully I'm wrong anyway and Mik will start at prop again.

I'm hoping we look something like this
Miller Roberts Newman Momirovski Handley Croft Frawley Sangare Ackers Goudemond Bentley Martin Smith
Subs Holroyd O'Connor Mcdonnell Ruan
Sinfield/ Johnson/Edgell/ Nicholson-Watton
As you said, Smith saying Holroyd and McDonnell likely back with Oledszki a bit of a long shot at this stage. I'd be tempted to have both Ruan and TNW on the bench and make a tough decision on which second row doesn't play. Just feel like we'll need more big bodies in order to compete.

Tough call as if no Oledski then the call for me is around Goudemand. He will be motivated against his former team but thats maybe not a good thing in the current climate. Sangare Ackers Smith Mcdonnell Martin Bentley

Haven’t had a chance to look at Catalan this season so not certain of the performance of the team. Whilst obviously we aren’t at full strength on paper that doesn’t look a bad squad. Not certain if we can win but definitely need to put in a good performance.
